I wanted to cater for 100 guests and upon recommendations from a couple of friends we decided to try out Marina Dosa with a friend. We ordered mendu vadas that were raw and so we did not eat them. The manager apologized and replaced them after half an hour with the main meal. But this time they were too oily so we did not eat them again. I ordered plain dosa with specific instructions to place the sabji on the side to make sure they were crispy. The dosa came with red chutney on the dosa but with the sabji in a bowl under the dosa and as you would expect the dosa was soft and soggy. Called the manager again and he said sorry and walked away. So we started on the dosa and to make matters worst we found a 1" piece of cardboard in the sabji. We called the manager again and he decided to call the owner. All he had to say about the dosa ordered was that we must have made a mistake with the order and offered a free coffee which never came until we reminded after replacement dosa came. What was even more shocking was that though they did not charge us for the menu vadas, they charged us for 3 dosas which we unwillingly paid. Finally we decided to take a look at the sweets (mithai) in the glass counter and were shocked to find fungus on it. Called the owner once again and he was apologetic, but we clearly told the owner that they had not only lost the catering but that this was the worst restaurant experience that we had ever had in our life. What a disaster from...
Read moreWe had an absolutely awesome dinner experience at Marina Dosa last night! The restaurant provided a delightful culinary journey with their delectable menu and warm hospitality.
We ordered the Kids Cone Plain Dosa and Masala Dosa, and both dishes were simply outstanding. The dosas were perfectly cooked, with a delightful crispness on the outside and a soft, flavorful interior. The accompanying chutneys and sambar complemented the dosas beautifully, enhancing the overall taste.
We also tried the Idli and Vada, which were flawlessly cooked. The idlis were light and fluffy, while the vadas were crispy and full of flavor. The sambhar served with them had an incredible consistency, packed with authentic South Indian flavors that left us craving for more.
To complete our meal, we decided to indulge in a cup of Masala Chai, and it was a treat in itself. The aromatic blend of spices in the chai was just perfect, striking a delightful balance that complemented the flavors of the food.
The ambiance of Marina Dosa was charming, and the staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. The entire dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, and we left with happy hearts and satisfied taste buds.
