Disappointing Dining Experience at Marhaba Restaurant
Review: I recently visited Marhaba Restaurant with high hopes for a delicious biryani experience, but unfortunately, my visit left much to be desired.
The biryani I ordered was a huge disappointment. The rice was overcooked and clumped together, lacking the fragrant and fluffy texture that makes biryani so special. Additionally, the meat was tough and overcooked, which made it difficult to enjoy the dish. It felt like the dish had been sitting out for too long before being served.
Not only was the biryani subpar, but the service was also lacking. The staff seemed disinterested and unattentive, making it challenging to get their attention when needed.
I had high expectations for this restaurant, given its reputation, but I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. I believe there's a lot of room for improvement in the kitchen, and the staff could use some training in customer service.
My intention in sharing this review is not to bash the restaurant but to offer constructive feedback for improvement. I would recommend reevaluating the cooking techniques to ensure the biryani is prepared with care and using fresh ingredients. It would also be beneficial to focus on creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests.
I hope that Marhaba Restaurant takes these points into consideration and strives to enhance its food and service quality. Biryani is a beloved dish, and it's essential to deliver an exceptional experience to customers who choose to dine at your...
Read moreThis was a takeout of Chicken 65 for a family gathering of friends for a religious event. I ordered 3 to take home. Specifically mentioned to counter girl - first its costlier than Hyderabad House @ 15.99 and second make sure its better than Hyderabad house. I brought it home. Wife tasted it. Decided not to serve to any guests. Her comment :- “ Dont waste money on such garbage next time” and “Buy only where it’s been tested and we all know what to expect”. “This is the worst chicken 65 in Calgary” … So I decided to taste some too. I could not disagree more. It is indeed the worst chicken 65 I have ever tasted. I wish there was a refund option. The three boxes are still out in fridge and guests left without eating them as we did not have the heart and courage to serve this Marhaba “Chicken 65”. I think this one needs a new name - “Chicken 20” as its at not even close to half of Chicken 65 to be called “Chicken 32.5” —— Moral of story? Dont waste your money on chicken 65 at Marhaba; until you taste a piece of it and make sure it’s really Chicken 65. This one wast not even Chicken 25. I will add photo some other day. Right now Im very pissed off at the waste of my money at Marhaba. Advice to Marhaba? Watch some Youtube videos and train your cooks. What they are feeding here is an Insult to...
Read moreThis place has an identity crisis. The name "Marhaba" is middle eastern and they have included a few dishes from the middle east. Inside the restuarant they have labelled themselves as "Arabic and Indian Cuisine" and have added many indian dishes such as Biryani, Karhai, Butter Chicken etc. The place also has an extensive list of BBQ items such as Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Kebab which is something you would find at a Pakistani Restaurant. The place also serves 1 or 2 hakka dishes.
I have no idea the purpose behind attempting to create dishes from 4 different countries when they can't even cook. In the midst of trying to find their identity they have wasted people's time with their terrible dishes.
We went here because of the reviews but left holding our stomachs based on how bad it was. We ordered a Chicken Karhai which come as a Chicken Curry dish. To make it worse, it was boneless.
Secondly, we ordered vegetable biryani becaues they ran out of chicken biryani. The biryani contained every vegetable that they could get their hands on, a few pieces of coriander on top and voila, they served us a vegetable biryani dish like something I have never tasted.
I could go on and on but I will end it here.
If you want to leave confused go here. If you want to save your stomach and wallet...
