YYC Pasta Bar Kensington — Restaurant in Calgary

My best friend and I went to YYC Pasta Bar for a dinner hangout, and it turned out to be such a great experience. I had been craving pasta all day, and this place really delivered. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was relaxed, the staff were friendly, and everything felt comfortable and easy!!

To start, I ordered the truffle fries with garlic Parmesan aioli. The fries were simple, not too fancy, but honestly super good and just perfect. They were hot, crispy, and the aioli had a nice garlic and cheesy flavour that went so well with the truffle 😋

For my main, I chose the truffle cream cheese ravioli because I wanted to stick with the truffle theme. The portion was huge for me and I was surprised at how filling it was. The ravioli was soft and stuffed with creamy cheese, and the sauce had just the right amount of truffle flavour. It was rich, tasty, and very satisfying. As someone who loves pasta, this dish made me really happy. Every bite was comforting and full of flavour 😩

My best friend got the spaghetti frutti di mare and a side of bread. She really enjoyed her meal and said everything tasted amazing. We both were very satisfied with our food and kept talking about how good everything was 🙌🏼

One thing we really appreciated was how fast the food came out. It was served hot and fresh, and we did not have to wait long at all. The service was great too. Our server was kind, helpful, and checked in on us at the right times. Everything just felt smooth and relaxed throughout the night.

The restaurant itself has a chill and cozy vibe. It is not too loud or busy, which made it a great place to catch up and enjoy dinner. We felt comfortable the whole time and did not feel rushed at all.

By the end of the meal, I was super full and completely satisfied. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and the service was really nice! If you are in Calgary and craving a good pasta meal, I definitely recommend checking out YYC Pasta Bar. Whether you want something creamy and rich like the ravioli or something fresh like the seafood pasta, they have great options.

Arriving at around 5:45 pm without a reservation, we were thrilled to find the restaurant still empty, providing a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere for our evening. The peaceful ambiance allowed us to unwind and fully enjoy our meal without any distractions.

From the moment we were seated, it was evident that the staff was attentive and focused on providing excellent service. We were promptly greeted by our friendly server.

The rosé sauce. It was an absolute revelation! The perfect blend of creaminess and tanginess created a flavor profile that was simply irresistible. The sauce enveloped the ravioli with a rich and velvety texture, making every bite a delightful symphony of flavors. The chef's mastery in crafting this sauce truly shone through and left us craving more.

Not only was the rosé sauce exceptional, but the timing of our meals was also commendable. Both meals arrived at our table in a timely fashion, ensuring that we never felt rushed or left waiting. The attention to detail was evident in the presentation of the plates, which were beautifully arranged and showcased the artistic touch of the culinary team.

To conclude, our visit to this restaurant was an absolute delight. The peaceful start to our evening allowed us to savor the remarkable rosé sauce and relish the impeccable service. YYC Pasta Bar was a real treat! I'm not saying that to give some false sense of the word - I mean that with every fibre of my being.

First, we were greeted by the wonderful staff, shown to our table and given menus. The gentleman that came to serve us, Minas was refreshing, vibrant and genuine. He provided spectacular customer service and had an amazingly firm grasp of the menu and recommended some delightful meals.

Once dinner was ordered, we realized that while it was a little busy, we could actually hear each other converse in a normal volume so that was a huge plus, considering the restaurant is a cozy space. We are impressed that Minas checked on us while we waited for our food and had some witty banter, really making for EXCELLENT customer service and a memory to tell you all about!

The food!!! Oh, the food was truly out of this world! I enjoyed the Spaghetti Frutti Di Marre with Alfredo and Fettuccini rather than the recommended Rosé and it was rich, filling, and altogether scrumptious.

Afterwards, we decided on dessert and indulged (at the recommendation of Minas (again, truly wonderful) in the Tiramisu AND the chocolate cake.

The chocolate cake had the most AMAZING ratio of fluffiness, rich dark chocolate and melt-in-your-mouth that really accentuated the "made in house" that is typical of a really GREAT Italian restaurant.
