I have mixed reviews here...
Most of my reviews I base on multiple excursions to that specific location before reviewing, and this Sunset Grill is no exception.
My most recent time I went was quite good. It was Father's Day morning, and despite the busy day, our service was great. Constant refills of coffee, bringing us requested items right away. Served right away, food was quick. I have nothing bad to say about this visit at all, we left a generous tip...
However, I had previously gone here on a date, and the food was so bad, I vowed to never come back. The service was fine, but the food was inedible... I don't mean that as an exaggeration - no, I mean literally neither my date nor I could finish anything on the plate. The mains were both overcooked and undercooked depending on what you bit. But the homefries, omg the homefries... If you ever wanted to just eat a salt lick, this was your chance. I LOVE salty food, but this made my face contort. It seems like whoever was cooking forgot they salted them, so they salted again... Then the lid of the salt shaker fell off. Then they tripped and the food somehow landed in the Salt Mountains range of Pakistan - and then they still served it...
But overall, my most recent visit truly made-up for the abysmal food of my previous visit. I don't know if it was a bad day, or if they replaced the cook. But whatever it is that they changed, it is much better now.
I do recommend coming here, as I now believe my previous experience was an outlier. And I am truly impressed with my most...
Read moreMy family and I visited this restaurant on Sep 6th at around noon time. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our server to come by the table to take our order. I can appreciate it was a busy morning, but that doesn't mean Customer service goes out the window. She came to our table and already had a miserable demeanor. Barely had any eye contact the whole time. I had to get up and ask for creamers for my coffee, syrup for my pancakes and a plate. We asked for water and juice, my son got his juice in a glass and the adults got our water in small plastic cups (you finish it in two gulps). The whole time we were there she never came back to check on us or even glance our way to check if we needed anything. We got charged for an extra item we did not order and when she was asked to change the bill she didn't bother to apologize or at least acknowledge her mistake. Like I said, she had a very miserable demeanor from the very beginning. I believe her name was Anita, she needs to get some Customer service training or get a new job where she doesn't have to interact with people. We will never come back here again. From what we observed we were not the only ones getting terrible Customer service at...
Read moreCustomized Recommendation: Waffle with Eggs, Sausage and Syrup + 1/2 Grapefruit 1/2 Orange Juice
Menu Recommendation: Spinach Omelette, Mediterranean Omelette, French Toast, Blueberry Pancakes, Sunset Omelette They have the best and most professional staff, seriously helpful. I didn't get the server's name but we sat on table #64 today (Sunday) and she was a young girl with black hair, just wanted to say thank u, if really made all the difference. She knew exactly what we wanted and the questions we had before we even mentioned, checked on us frequently, smiled at all time and made the most accurate suggestions. The atmosphere is very Western classic, cozy and suitable for families, it's busy but relaxing. The waffle texture was amazing, paired with eggs, sausage and syrup it's this crunchy sweet and salty combo that just go together in terms of flavour profile, give it a shot! Their coffee is also great. Their juice is fresh. The prices are spot on (look at the menu). Everything else recommended is...
