Azteca Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Charlottetown

The Island has great food, but until now no great Mexican. Azteca has changed that. In the short two weeks since it opened it has captured our hearts. Homemade tortillas, tacos with carnitas (braised and fried pork), asada (beef) and others come dbl-wrapped with two fresh tortillas to prevent leaks :-). They have birrias with cheese and a beef broth to dip it in. (Birrias as slow-cooked meat served dipped in broth). Great breakfast options too. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Wonderful, comfy experience. Felt like I was visiting a family friend who was cooking dinner for me.

They have such a large menu with plenty of different options for everyone. Many dishes had options to choose from in terms of protein, which was appreciated. Delicious, homemade desserts were a must-try if you have room afterwards - I loved the tres leches, and the choco flan looks amazing too!

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Charlottetown now. We are so in need of more authentic, ethnic restaurants that aren't fast food. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. The tacos al pastor and the quesabirrias were particularly amazing and the arroz con leche was warm and delicious. The owners are also so lovely. I can't wait...
