Corky's Irish Pub — Restaurant in Chilliwack

Went there because it was late (past 10), and options were limited, but pub food is usually good, so I'll give it a try.

The first thing I notice when I walk in is the live music performance. That's pretty neat. However, the volume was so loud that it was nearly impossible to hold a conversation to order food; the concert I was at the previous weekend had quieter music. You would definitely incur hearing loss if you spent time there. We decided to eat outside on the back patio instead, which looked kinda cute. Turns out that area is for smoking, so we spent the rest of our time breathing in secondhand smoke. Great if you're a smoker, terrible otherwise. It was also in a not so great area of town, and a random person who seemed homeless kept walking up to loudly ask for a cigarette. I don't blame the establishment for this, but yeah...

We were instructed to sit down at any table, and, presumably, a server would come by to help us. We sat there for half an hour before we got up to go ask if we were going to get service and had to grab our own menus. We then waited and again had to get up to order because there was absolutely no service. I don't know what they said as a reason for not being able to serve us because, again, the music was too loud to really communicate.

After this, we did get our food and started receiving normal service. We ordered the nachos, and they were fine. Nothing special or amazing, but they were large with plenty of toppings and filled us up, but you would expect at least that for $29 ($27?). Not enough salsa, but maybe you can order more, I didn't try.

As we were leaving, at least 3 police cars were sitting outside the entrance with a 4th rolling up. I'm not sure what was going down, but we were happy to get out of there. Might be completely unrelated to the restaurant, but that is the kind of area it's located in.

Went there and off the bat bad approach from the server, not nice customer service very rude. Used to go there and was always a pleasant experience. But recently decided to go there since I haven’t been in awhile, it was pretty slow like it can be sometimes, walked in with a mask on as that is the new rule for all stores and restaurants. There was nobody in the front and was pretty dim in there didn’t think to read any papers posted as they usual says mask mandatory and keep your distance, and it was not busy, so me and the person I was with decide to take a seat far away from anyone, as that is what we would usually do. We got approached and this lady who wore a Louis Vuitton mask immediately was rude to us saying that we had to wait for her to seat us and that we had to be wearing a mask which we took off when we sat down but was wearing as we walked to the table. We were being respectful and kept apologizing and that we were unaware and haven’t been there in awhile, but she still gave attitude that completely made us wanna get out of there, she could’ve had a better approach to it and let us know for next time that’s the new rule And maybe been more respect with better customer service. Sorry but not a good experience tonight :(. To start off, when we sat down, the waitress comes over and asks what we want to drink but doesn’t bring any menus. We asked for some, because we obviously want to see what they have. She brings us one menu (for 2 people) then disappears for at least 5 minutes. She brings us our drinks and then disappears for 15 minutes! I have to go find her at the bar and let her know we’d like to order food. She looks annoyed. Meanwhile , cigarette smoke is wafting in from outside , and it’s pretty strong. She come a back 5 mins after that and stares at me. We order 2 meals and a starter and she rushes off. Another 20 minutes later she comes back with all the food, no starter ahead of it. Drops it on the table and leaves without asking if there’s anything else. I need ketchup for my fries so we are waiting until she returns. Cigarette smoke still keeps wafting in. Then we realize the wings are not the right sauce.
