Yale Sushi — Restaurant in Chilliwack

Yale Sushi has redeemed itself. I'm my eyes. Very friendly service, and the food presentation was incredible. The food we ordered came out incredibly fast and fresh... spicy tuna was the perfect texture and chilling cold as raw sushi should. Food portions were very generous for the price... keeping in mind we ate inside the restaurant and I do not think take out portions are as such... soo it's worth the sit-down experience. The downside for us was that the ambiance was incredibly quiet... almost too quiet to the point where it was difficult to talk as everyone could hear what our conversation. Even as the people across from us were whispering, we could hear their conversation as well, and believe me, we did not want to eaves drop on that convo. Probably recommend owners to play some background music or something to fill the space. Also, I didn't really like the fact that the bill was presented with the server waiting awkwardly with the debit machine at the table while I was still stuffing my face with the delicious Yakiudon... kinda which he would have come back once I had at least finished my food... Extremely Rude, would not recommend. I called for pick up order before 3:30 which is when the lunch special is over. I called and asked for lunch special and an extra miso soup. I also confirmed with the lady on the phone that I will be phoning back with more to order I just wanted to make sure I got the lunch special and when the rest of family made their mind up I will call back with more to order. When I tried to phone back for 10 minutes but it was busy I finally got through and confirmed the first part of my order was ordered she was very rude. I reminded her that I had been calling for 10 minutes it was now 3:40 pm and she said my order was not received and tried to convince me to order dinner special. Yale Sushi does not treat customers good and is all about the money customer service is definitely not on their list. Sushi was good, and arrived to the table quickly.

The service was not great. We waited for our drinks ( water and tea) for 15 minutes, food arrived but was never checked on again. We had to get up to look for our own take out container (they're under the counter at the middle waitress station) to pack up leftovers, we finally flagged a waitress down to get our bill but she never did bring it because she was busy dealing with take-out orders. Finally we walked to the till to pay where the girl punched in our total and walked away, we printed the merchant receipt and just left it. Also as we were waiting for our bill, 3 parties of people were standing at the front waiting to be seated, two of those parties left after 5 minutes. I would like to note that the waitresses were trying their best and just were too overwhelmed. This place clearly needs more help, with so much competition in Chilliwack, you can't be this...
