Pita Pit — Restaurant in Chilliwack

Super disappointing experience. 27$ and change for 2 partial wraps.

Hadn't been to Pita Pit in years and now living so close by, I opted to give it a whirl for dinner.

Walked in to find nobody behind the counter with a several minute wait until someone came from the back. The lady working was hard to understand and hard to hear. When asked if the bread used contained dairy, she said no, it didn't but was not able to provide an ingredient list and said she didn't have one to check. I mentioned my boyfriends severe dairy allergy and again was told no, the bread did not contain dairy. He has eaten at several Pita Pits over the years, with no issue, but wanted to make sure they had not changed up their Pita bread in the interm. My boyfriend had a beef brisket Pita, with grilled green peppers & onions which he said the flavor was decent but portion, price, and quality was severely lacking. He opted out of having his Pita toasted. I chose the falafel, and opted to have it toasted. Somehow, it was still cold, almost like the falafel themselves didn't get properly reheated. The toppings were crusty looking. The work station wasn't clean, nor was the panini press for toasting. Needless to say, my boyfriend ended up having an allergic reaction 4 bites into his Pita. We both suspect cross contamination due to the dirty work areas....

I was this was the only place that not wearing masks. When I said something to the manger / owner she said nothing and walked away. There was no Full barriers above the food areas . Nothing abover t where the vegs etc were stored. I got my money back and left. Any place that this lax about this stuff during a pandemic is not some place I want to eat. I gave a second star instead of one due to getting my cash back. Prime place to end up with staff sick from the pandemic. Even if they aren't I hate to see what happens if someone whom ill but doesn't know it end up coughing etc around the prep area. Normal barriers dont...

Edit: Well I came back and it’s only gotten worse! 🤦‍♂️ I asked for large but got regular size… the lady argued with me about their sizes. 🤦‍♂️ No bean sprouts anymore 👎 The staff were bitching at each other which makes everything awkward and not a pleasant environment. I asked for grilled onions but didn’t get any. And tables were dirty.
