I ordered the Large PrimeTime Beef Donair and Baklava. For $20ish the donair was fantastic. The sauce was not the traditional white sweet sauce, instead it was brown, sweet and slightly spicy. Honestly I'm a big fan of it and would recommend anyone to give it a shot. The base heat level was about the same as a mild salsa and they had options to keep adding heat if that's what you wanted. My only issue with the donair is that both sides are open so as you eat it, sauce drips out of the bottom side and makes a mess. I still ate everything that dropped out but folding up the bottom side would have been easy and kept everything contained. For the donair itself it's the best I've had so far in Spruce Grove. I would definitely buy again but I would probably not get the Baklava since it came hard frozen, it did taste good after it was thawed but should be delivered ready to eat, not as a hard frozen chunk.

I'm not happy about the recent menu changes. This used to be our favorite donair place, but we have no reason to come back here. Our favorite donair for over 5 years since their Edmonton location opened has been removed from the menu and was told they couldn't make it anymore. The menu has been redesigned into something so loud and complicated I lost my appetite just trying to make sense of it. So now they have become just like literally every donair shop except they can't make mixed poutines. We used to get the honey garlic mixed poutine and the pineapple mixed poutine. So we have zero reasons to come here anymore.

I have eaten at dozens of donair establishments all over Alberta, and this is without hesitation, the worst donair I have ever had. It is not even edible. I literally pulled it apart just to eat the bread after spending $20 on a large beef donair. The meat is cut up into multiple small and uneven pieces and looks like scraps. Also meat was dry and had no flavour. What happened to slicing thin strips of meat ? I order tzatziki sauce which was a huge mistake..all I could taste was thyme which doesn’t even make sense. Pita bread seemed fresh but could have been microwaved..such a disappointment.

This is my second review of Prime donair Spruce Grove. The first review was really really good. The food was exceptionally good, and better than all the other donair shops, since has gone down hill very badly. The last two times I ate donairs the meat was really dry, like chewing leather. It's like there trying to save money on sauce, even though I Paid for extra sauce there was barley any at all. Like not even a drizzle. This is the last time I will eat prime donair, I ended up throwing half the donair in the garbage this time and last time. There use to be a Philippineo man cooking and Boy was the food good. I haven't seen him the last few times and it reflects very much so on the food. Maybe new ownership, not sure, but quality has...
