Jamaica Snack Shoppe — Restaurant in Clarington

Decided to give this restaurant 1 more chance and spent $24 to buy butter bean ,saltfish and ground provision & it looked like dog food my mom told me to throw it away smh 🤦‍♀️ chef u need to find something else to do cause this ain’t working out for u I’m just being honest ,I had to throw all the food away not to mention the dumpling was like a thick leather belt ! And pure thyme still in the food plus the person put rice at the bottom of the box smh 🤦‍♀️ My goodness a Bellevue patient a cook in this place ! The food was so horrible I’m in awe that someone really let something like that leave their restaurant my mom was so shocked she said throw it away ! This place is a very bad restaurant! Run run for your lives people do not buy food from here u will regret it ! Any good reviews yall seeing on here is from their friends or family members . Run from this place as fast as u can !! I just ordered through skip from this location for the first time. Now this!! ^^^^ is authentic, flavorful and extremely well thought out and hard work put into, jamaican food. I ordered both the jerk chicken dinner and chicken curry and honestly I can say I havent been able to find anything like this since the old scarborough days. It has a kick for sure but thats what its supposed to be like! If a jamaican restaurant asks you if you like it mild or spicy... it aint legit. Cause that means they arent marinating their meats. The steamed veggies are not just bagged frozen veggies boiled up like everywhere else.... these are fresh hand cut up veggies, peppers, cabbage carrots clearly done in a pan or wok with flavour! The rice and peas... again FLAVOUR. I am so impressed and highly recommend if you know what island food is supposed to taste like. Will def order again! Thank...

I had the worst experience. Food was awful. Dry. Rock hard rice. I called the restaurant and complained about my order and she said something about frozen corn and I’m here trying to get my whole ACKEE and SALTFISH and curry goat order freshly replaced. There was no saltfish in the ACKEE and saltfish. Instead I get a chewy bar and some knock off brand cheese balls? When I wanted good Jamaican food and instead got this.

There was NO way this was cooked fresh or proper. I’m genuinely so dissatisfied and disappointed. Didn’t even get my money or replacement. Absolutely upset. Waste of 45$ I’m sorry but I do not recommend. Save your money. There’s other legit Jamaican places out there that take pride in what they cook and pride in they people that help keep the business up.
