Dog-it Poutine — Restaurant in Collingwood

I haven't had a lot of poutine in my life – you don't get a lot of it in Tennessee – but I found myself in Collingwood and this restaurant was recommended on a tourism website. And it was the best recommendation of the trip! Seriously, this was the BEST poutine I've ever had in my life, and both my son and I continued to rave about it to each other in the car for some time after we finished most of it. The people were also super nice, and very reassuring about it being safe for my son to eat (he's allergic to peanuts and tree nuts). That and the great recommendation from the staff to eat at Sunset Point Beach made our trip! I will be so excited to go back again in the future!

UPDATE! We went back! Yep, we drove all the way to Collingwood just to eat Dog-It Poutine again. This time, my son and I have had a lot more experience eating poutine (seriously, we've tried dozens of poutines now), just in case our first time wasn't as great as we thought it was, and… Dog-It Poutine is still the best poutine we've ever had! We also brought my wife/his mom along, and she agreed. Seriously, great food. I hope we get a chance...

Poutine, Canada's pride and joy. Delicious crispy golden fries smothered in thick gravy and cheese curd. Oh Canada are you guys missing out if you don't come to Dog-it Poutine!

As an avid poutine consumer and hot dog specialist ( both self given titles rightfully so) this fine establishment is amazing. Clean. Friendly staff. Great music. And above all else great quality food. I was blown away with their Jerk chicken poutine. Yes friends you read that right! JERK CHICKEN POUTINE. it's like my mouth took a trip to the islands and landed softly back into the warm embrace of delicious gravy. Their hotdogs are also only the finest of Nathan's brand hot dogs with a plethora of topping options. If you wear your toque proudly as a Canadian get your butt over here the next time you're in Collingwood. Mooses and stuff. Go...

Best poutine outside of Quebec! Get an authentic classic poutine made with St-Albert cheese curds, the best fresh made fries and tasty vegetable gravy. Amp it up with a variety of toppings. Pictured here is a Mushroom Melt which comes with shredded cheese on top, along with the cheese curds -- see the video! My personal favourite would have to be the Chorizo Poutine. The hot dogs are great too, with many toppings to choose from. I go for the shredded pickle, ranch and crispy jalapeño. You can see the crispy jalapeños I added on the Mushroom Melt Poutine. If you only feel like fries, they not only lay a great foundation for poutine, they are the best fries. There's been a few times I've ordered them plain just to simply enjoy the texture and taste.
