I rarely ever write reviews, however, our experience yesterday at Eggsmart in Collingwood was so atrocious that I donât want anyone else to experience the same thing as we did. We arrived at Eggsmart at around 9:30am Wednesday morning. The lady seated us pretty quickly, cleaned our table and took our order. However, that was the extent of the good experience. It was downhill from then on. My kids ordered the French Toast meals and I ordered the Meat Lovers platter. It took about 20 minutes to arrive. We were starving. We werenât the only ones waiting as there were many other tables who apparently arrived much earlier than we did who still didnât get their orders yet. You could see the annoyance in their faces. One table up and left before their orders arrived. When our food arrived, the potatoes were still raw. I tried to get the waitressâs attention, but she either didnât see me or ignored me. I soon realized that she was indeed ignoring me as she did the same to the other tables time and time again. Her eyes focusing down on the tables and not at the patrons. We soon suspected that the establishment was good at getting the people seated quickly, likely to maintain the flow of business, however, their service after that point was lacking. I ended up eating my potatoes with lots of ketchup to mask the raw taste. My kids platters were supposed to come with some fruit slices. They did not. Again, I tried to get waitressâs attention. She finally nodded at me from a distance, but never showed up for another 20 minutes. My coffee was never topped up. In the hour that I was there no one ever came to ask us how our food was, top up our coffee or anything. In fact, I forgot to mention that they didnât give us enough cutlery. So, my son and I had to share forks and napkins throughout our whole meal. Once we were done our food we tried to get their attention for about 10 minutes for our bill. My kids (being 5 and 7) got restless just sitting there and finally stood up. That was when the waitress rushed over and asked us if we needed anything or wanted to the bill. I said, âYes, I will take the bill, a top up of coffee and some fruit for my kids that was supposed to come with their meal.â She replied, âItâs just fruit for garnish.â I said, âYes, two of those please. It lists it on the menu.â She rolled her eyes at me and walked away. She did come back with two slices of orange and two slices of cantaloupe. Honestly, if they consider it just âgarnishâ and donât feel the need to include it on the plate then donât falsely advertise it on the menu if you donât intend to include it. Since menu said â1 toastâ, I asked if I could substitute meat ( that I had to pay for regardless) for an extra piece of toast or maybe a slice of tomato instead. She went to ask manager & sd they canât do that, too complicated for kitchenâ If my plate comes with a piece of toast how could you possibly not make another? So many folks r plant based & every single breakfast establishment weâve been to, has been able to accommodate us. This was the first time weâve been told canât substitute the meat for anything but u still pay for it. CORPORATE GREED at its finest. We also ordered a waffle to split & sd no to whip cream & yes to cinnamon sugar & pd $2 extra for real syrup. So eggs come. They come with 2 pieces of toast each & waitress couldnât tell me thatđ€ My eggs were fine. My husbands easy over were hard so they donât know what theyâre doing! Irony is theyâre called egg smart. You canât make over easy eggs?? Then the waffle was full of chocolate syrup & sliced bananas. Waitress didnât come once to ask how our food was. We left most of the waffle & of course didnât use syrup when it was full of chocolate syrup. Finally saw the waitress walking to another table when I politely called her over. Eggs were eaten so chose not to tell her about hard over easy. Told her thatâs not the waffle we ordered. She said consider it a gift and we wouldnât have to pay for the chocolate syrup & bananas and only the waffle. WHAT ??? CORPORATE GREED & LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE. How about since you knew it was a mistake, approach us and apologize & ask if we want what we ordered instead. Needless to say NEVER going to an egg NOT smart place again. TRAIN your staff and especially MANAGER who lacks in management skills. Been to breakfast so many times. First review ever for crapiest breakfast and HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.    Read moreWe arrived today at 12pm. She said it would be a 25min wait and that if we were OK with that we could sit. We ordered drinks and then our food. 25mins pasted and no one came to tell us or speak to us about anything about 45mins later still nothing my boyfriend asked if he could get another drink she came over snippy and gave it to him. And 110 she finally brought over his Eggsmart poutine and pancake the pancake was cold and like a rock she was mad he asked for a new one well would you have eaten that? No. My food took another 15mins to get to our table. My club house sandwich had no chicken on 1 piece and very little on 2 of the others with skimpy lettuce, I don't complain often but today I did thinking it was warranted. She said oh, I see that. I said I'm starving so I'll eat it I don't have a hour to wait for a new one unfortunately so she says I'll discount it. We ask for the bill 10mins later we get it and she says I can't discount the sandwich it's not possible I'll take off 2 drinks and 2 gravy which she did not do. She left both drinks on the bill. We asked for the manager to which she said she was and we said OK so the owner? Well she stepped out. We pay and leave to see the owner outside we approach her politely and my boyfriend says are you the owner? Yes is her reply. He says may I speak with you she goes can I finish the conversation with my cook? The cook says maybe talk to your customers she said no I'm finishing this first. And walked away! We left by its pouring rain and cold we get the car and she's still outside so we come closer and go to talk and get stared at by the 3 people outside so we leave again!
