I wanted to try this place because I thought the food and drinks looked and sounded great, but was kind of let down. I ordered a bibimbap wrap, a black pink cake, and an iced black salt cream coffee. The wrap was mostly rice inside with the occasional larger bite of a vegetable. The black pink cake (chocolate cake with berry frosting and a little bit of raspberry jam) was very good in the flavour department but difficult to eat because it had just come out of the fridge and the frosting was hard. I think it would have been much nicer if it was served closer to room temperature so that the frosting could soften a bit, and the texture of the cake likely would have been better too. Their cake fridge was out of order so the cakes were being stored in the regular industrial fridge; maybe it’s different when they have the use of the cake fridge. The black salt cream coffee was great! I was really happy that they could make it decaf. The most interesting part was the black salt cream, but the coffee itself was also nice and smooth. Service was okay. The person ordering ahead of me didn’t speak English well and was pointing at the menu and using broken English to order, and the barista was patient and helpful with them. My order was ready pretty quickly. I was pleased by the presence of vegan options, even if I wasn’t really impressed by my vegan wrap. But if you order online, it seems like there’s no way to request non-dairy milk for your drink even though they have them in store, which would be annoying if you’re using the online order. It’s an upcharge in store, so I don’t know if they’d honour it if you wrote it in. I didn’t actually place my order online but was using the website to check out the menu. I was torn between 2 or 3 stars as I had the mixed experience with the food and drink, but the details are what make it a 2 for me. They don’t have glasses for cold drinks or metal cutlery - it’s plastic cups for the drinks and wooden spoons, and forks and knives don’t even have the (relatively) eco-friendly wood option, just plastic. Not very classy for a brunch spot, and they have plates and hot drink mugs, so obviously they have the capacity to wash dishes. I also think it’s silly when single-user washrooms are gendered. I would definitely give them another chance and order different things if I lived nearby, but I wouldn’t make a special trip again.

After hearing great things from friends and local reviews we decided to try this local Korean fusion cafe on Friday, and it was so good we also came back again on Monday! The cafe has a great set up, with a lovely covered patio so we were able to enjoy dining on site. If you want to dine in they take your order and then give you a coaster that vibrates when it's time to come pick up your order, it was very convenient! The inside is also nice as it features lots of local products and to go items for sale as well. For our Friday visit we ordered the Mr. Kim sandwich, the coffee frappe with espresso, the bulgogi wrap, the mocha matcha cake, and the cookie trio (chocolate walnut, hazelnut bliss, and matcha almond). The second time around we got the chicken and waffles, the bulgogi bowl with gochujang, the matcha latte, the caramel macchiato, and a red velvet cookie. Overall we were very impressed with everything. You can tell they use good quality ingredients as everything is pretty simple on the surface but really tasty and well-executed. The drinks are great as they don't come too sweet and are very coffee forward! You can tell the beans are freshly roasted and good quality. The matcha latte was also nice but for my personal taste I would have liked a bit more matcha powder! The food was excellent, I especially loved the bulgogi wrap! It might look unassuming from the outside, but once you bite in it has a really lovely flavour that's somehow both rich and light at the same time. Everything was well-balanced and the treats were addictive! The cookies were all excellent, and if you love matcha but don't like sweets, the matcha mochi cake would be right up your alley. As it's very strongly matcha flavored and not too sweet at all. If you prefer sweet desserts definitely go for the cookies, they are to die for! My partner admitted he was a bit skeptical at first, as he's experienced a lot of "fusion food" that doesn't work because neither cuisine is done well and just overall mediocre, but he loved this. He said it encompassed the best of both worlds perfectly! We will definitely be back soon!

We often go out for coffee together a couple of times a week. We chose this coffee shop because we had been to another location of the same chain several times and really liked it there. This location is closer to our home, and we were hoping to visit it more often.

The first time we came here, everything was great: the dessert, the coffee, the cups with artistic designs, and the pleasant atmosphere. However, our next visit was a completely opposite experience and left us feeling frustrated, mostly due to the behavior of the cashier.

We wanted to enjoy some quality time together, so we came to this café on a Sunday evening. We ordered coffee for here, paid for a double shot, and even left a tip. We waited for our order, but when it arrived, the coffee was served in paper cups instead of ceramic mugs.

When we asked why it wasn’t served in mugs, the cashier told us that after 6 PM, they don’t use mugs. Meanwhile, a stack of clean mugs was sitting right next to the counter, clearly not dirty. So, mugs are apparently reserved for morning customers, and evening guests are not allowed that small pleasure. What’s even stranger is that a week earlier, another barista served us coffee in mugs with latte art after 6 PM without any issues.

To make things worse, my mocha was cold and tasted watered down—essentially lukewarm milk with cocoa. The latte, for which we had paid for a double shot, tasted like pure milk with no hint of coffee. When we asked for it to be redone, the cashier argued, insisting there were two shots in it. Really? No, we know what a double shot tastes like in a latte. She eventually redid the drink, but with visible annoyance and reluctance.

The entire experience was ruined. It left us with a very negative impression. How can someone treat their work and customers like this? People come to your café, spend their money, and even tip upfront, and this is the kind of service they get? It’s honestly unacceptable.

Now I understand why this location is always so empty. We were the only customers there, aside from one student sitting and studying.

We love going out for coffee, but this place is now officially off our list. It’s a shame that the staff here have such a...
