This morning around 10am I bought a bacon egg McMuffin meal at the Burquitlam Station McDonald’s and was absolutely disgusted to find a booger on the outside of the paper wrapper on the my egg McMuffin. It was so gross I started gagging on the SkyTrain. I couldn’t even bring myself to take a picture of it because it made me physically sick, but I did take a photo of me throwing the entire order (sandwich + hashbrowns) into the garbage to show I didn’t eat it.
When I came back around 12:45pm to calmly explain the situation and ask for a refund (just for the contaminated items), I showed the shift manager, Ravleen, the photo of me throwing out the food. She was extremely rude and dismissive, and told me since I didn’t have a picture of the actual booger there was “nothing they could do.” When I said I’d be writing a review about the poor service, she responded with “okay go ahead do it” and walked away.
Two other staff members tried to be more polite, but they only offered to remake the food—which I declined because I was still disgusted and didn’t want to eat there again today. They also said they couldn’t refund me because I didn’t have the original food or receipt, even though (1) one of them confirmed they remembered me from the morning, and (2) I ordered through my McDonald’s app account, which could easily have been referenced.
The fact that this location refused to refund an order under $10 after such a disturbing experience is unacceptable. Between the contamination and the dismissive management, this was by far the worst and most disgusting service I’ve ever received at a...
Read moreOk. I get it. Who leaves McDonald's reviews right? This is not about the foods. In fact, let me clarify. The foods at this location is great. The facility is spotless like many reviews and photos posted. This review is about human decency. I have been to this location many times. I have witnessed the asian supervisor/manager/owner in her late 40s/early 50s yelling at the staffs like they're animals. She makes Gordon Ramsay look like a saint. Unfortunately today I experienced it myself as a customer. Order placed on the app, went to wait for my order number. Saw it In Progress. Then it disappeared. Quite normal. I waited 10 minutes. Saw a notification on the app wishing me to enjoy my foods. That's when I knew something is wrong. I went up to the counter to inquire about my order. She brushed me off. I waited for her to finish packing and asked her about my order. She got annoyed and finally asked what I ordered. I showed her my order number. She lost it and yelled at me "WHAT DID YOU ORDER?" That's when I realized she wanted the items. I scrambled to close the app to look for the email receipt. She got angry that I was standing at the pick up counter and yelled at me to move. I moved back and read off the items to her. Waited for the foods. I tailed out of the store. Came home with a bag full of tissues, no fries, no ketchup, no sauce for the nuggets.
There were kids there applying for jobs. I can't imagine any parents would subject their kids to this toxic work environment.

Read moreI hold this location in very high regard, as I used to work here during my school days. Back then, the team dynamics and leadership were well-structured, and that translated into a consistently great guest experience.
Over the years, I’ve continued to make purchases here, but unfortunately, my recent experiences have not reflected the same level of quality. The current team seems to be struggling with efficiency, and I’ve encountered repeated issues such as: • Barriers when placing drive-thru orders • Food served cold • Incorrect orders and recipes • Missing items
I usually don’t check my order right away, since I understand the pressure of drive-thru targets. However, when I sit down to eat, I’m often left disappointed.
Today was another example, my food was cold, the sandwich was poorly assembled, and although I was charged for a habanero dip, it was missing. It wasn’t in the bag, and it wasn’t inside the sandwich either. Starting the day with cold food and a missing item is disheartening, especially when I know this location used to set the standard for quality.
I hope this feedback helps the team realign with the standards that once made this location so great.
PS: I’d still love to be a guest at this location, please...
