Short version.
Service 4/5 (quick given how busy but being skipped over wasn't nice) Presentation 1/5 (messy as hell) Price 4/5 (pretty inline with other places) Taste -10/5 (disgusting and most went on compost) Overall. Worst sushi I've had out of 100+places and living in Japan for a year.
Long version
Bleh. Bad experience from the start. Wife and I have eaten at 100+ sushi places, and I lived in Japan for a while, so I know my Japanese food.
We Pre-ordered ($150 worth as we always order certain items as a benchmark comparison when we test out new sushi places). Showed up for pick up and it was busy so I got in line. When I was up to ask for my order, they skipped me and instead helped the Japanese person behind me (I'm Caucasian) and then made me wait another 6 minutes. Could have been an accident but didn't leave a great feeling.
Got the food home. Gross. Probably the worst sushi I've ever ordered. Ignoring the taste for a minute, I've never seen rolls made so poorly. They were not round nor were they tight. They looked like someone just threw all the ingredients into the take out container and threw some nori on top. We had to reassemble every roll before eating. The tempura was okay, though clearly had been cooked too early and sitting out waiting too long and got soggy. Even when I skip the dishes and wait 40 minutes for delivery I don't usually have tempura that cold and soggy, and I picked up fresh and drove home 6 minutes.
We ordered the Yaki upon, took a few bites and said "maybe it will be edible reheated tomorrow " (it wasn't and went in the compost). We tried the rolls, they were...okay.. but with his sloppy they were put together it wasn't worth the effort.
Ok unagi Nigiri, I'd say this was the best item in the meal. Sauce was decent, but the pieces were quite chewy. I know sometimes you just get a bad piece, that coulda been this one.
Sashimi. You buy it, you cut it.. no room for error. Wrong. I don't know what it was, but this was tough and chewy and tasted terrible. The wife is obsessed with Toro sashimi, and refused to eat it. Thankfully my dog...

I’ve been coming here for years. I stopped because I found it hit and miss.
I came back post COVID and the quality has really improved.
I’ve been back a few times and the quality of the fish and the preparation is excellent . Good value.
Usually this place is smoking busy. We came jut before 6 and were seated immediately.
Take-out is always busy so it must be good as well.
I’m sure you will have a good dining experience whether dine-in or take-out.
Word.
Jan 22nd, 2022 - Back again. Food and service good as it was before.
They cleaned tables beside us with disinfectant, you could smell it.
Another good meal. Take out was steadily busy.
March 6th, 2022 - Back again. I’ve read unfavourable reviews about the fish.
We ordered the large assorted 9 piece Tuna (5) and Salmon (4) sashimi. I polled my adult and 12 year old son ans they unanimously said the fish was very fresh.
We ordered the large assorted tempura. It was hot and crisp, no soggy pieces. I like that the tempura is lightly coated.
We ordered the Chicken Karage Donburi, it was on promotion with a free Sake Yuzu Pom Bomb or Strawberry Sake Refresher. We got a virgin Yuzu Pom Bomb which was delicious, it came with a slice of dried lemon and a sprig of dried fresh thyme.
My pet peeve, this thing drives me nuts: I noticed a small chip on a plate and soy bowl. I can’t stand chipped plates, cups etc. However, my rating remains 5/5.
Everyone was...
Read moreDespite what I'm about to say, this is a decent affordable sushi place. The staffs are all hard working, and attentive. If anyone is to blame it would be the owner. But first, a little background information.
So few hours prior to this post we arrived for dinner. After a few minutes of wait we were seated. After we sat, the staff seated 2 more patron at the table next to ours. And as the waiter was clearing the table, he spilled some tea on the floor. So the waiter that were bringing tea right after slip on the wet and slippery floor and spill tea all over the table and a little on one of us.
Personally, I don't blame the waiter. The flooring material gets slippery if there is any moisture like oil or water on it. And they're black tiles to begin with so it's probably hard to tell how wet the floor is from a distance. Besides, we've talked to the manager afterwards and they offered us a very decent discount on our meal. So I don't blame the staff at all.
If the owner is reading this. Please do something about your slippery floor. Either change it entirely or add some non slip sticker/tape to your floor. Today I've observed several waiter/waitress almost slip on the floor. Tomorrow a patron might slip and bump their head or something. Making sure your restaurant is a safe environment is the best investment you can make for your...
