Was on vacation in Vancouver for a week and got stuck due to the flooding. Told the girlfriend we should make the most of being stuck in a big city and get to our Christmas shopping while we were down since we are limited in our small city. Having 4 children, toys were our top priority and of course LEGO. After some google research, I discovered Mastermind Toys and then someone recommended Mind Games in Coquitlam Centre so we checked it out. Definitely lots to see and the options were endless. We spent some time in the store and were ready to spend some money until we met Joshua. Rude and condescending would be the best explanation for this staff member. I told the other people with me that I would personally pay the difference over and beyond the prices at Mind Games if they bought elsewhere which they did. We quickly also learnt that Mind Games wasn't the most reasonably priced store either but we were on vacation and most people on vacation are not looking for deals so the opportunity to capture our sale was available. We continued on and spent $520 on the same items at a competing store followed by $650 at the Lego store at Guilford mall. I own a retail establishment and we thrive on the ultimate customer experience and would personally be embarrassed to have a staff member of...
Read moreI use to really like going here to get funko pops a couple years back but recently and by recently I mean like since 2021 they increased the prices on funkos by quite a bit to where it’s higher than retail price. It was like that before but mainly for the funkos that were typically harder to find but now even just funkos that are new coming out that you can easily find elsewhere for their retail price they would be charging them here for a extra 5 dollars. It’s disappointing when I walk by the place and see a funko I like just to see that it’s being charged so much then it should be. I still come here from time to time just to see if there’s anything worth getting but it’s definitely the last place I check funko wise now and before I had good experience with staff at this place but now in the past couple months it’s been terrible...
Read moreI received a Christmas gift from a mind games store. My mother in law double checked with the people at the location in Victoria that if I didn’t like the puzzle or already owned it I’d be able to exchange it at a location in Vancouver. The employee informed my mother in law that I would be able to exchange it at any other location. Well turns out the employees didn’t know about a soon to happen policy change and they wouldn’t do it. Now I’m stuck with a duplicate puzzle and my mother in law is livid with the mind games that told her otherwise. If you change a policy that is completely understandable. But you should honour the purchases made before the policy change that are still within the dates. Lost a customer and will never ever recommend to buy anything for yourself or gifts for others from mind...
