I have to say we were super disappointed. We were staying at the hotel and first off, when we walked in, the floors were insanely slippery.. like people were literally shuffling along holding the pony walls for support. Staff were aware, but no one was trying to clean it or at least put slippery floor signs out.
I ordered the Cajun shrimp power bowl. I’m really not fussy but it was completely bland. Plain wild rice, with frozen corn and edamame. The cucumbers were all translucent and going soft. The breaded shrimp were tiny but tasted ok. It had a little bit of a thick spicy sauce on it which seemed like siracha but must have been some kind of Cajun sauce. I ate some of it but I’m sorry it just was really bad.
My husband had the steak sandwich and oof.. it was bad. It was on a piece of toasted ciabatta bun with little garlic butter, the steak could have been good as it was nice and thick but he asked for medium rare and it was pretty much well done.. the slightest amount of pink. No seasoning whatsoever.. like not even salt and pepper. The texture was like they charred one side on a pan and then boiled it. There was a great big cut mark where it was basically cut in two to see if it was done but then they proceeded to boil it more. Then put an onion ring on top. No cheese, sauce, anything.. just bun, overcooked, unseasoned steak and an onion ring. The fries were decent.
Our servers were friendly and apologetic when the food took a really long time considering there was no one else there when we arrived.
I’m not trying to be mean, I’ve never left a bad review in my entire life, but it was seriously not great. I see a lot of great reviews so we wondered if maybe it was new and inexperienced kitchen staff or someone was having...

Been awhile since I've been to an actual wing night and wow, this was a good deal!! No wonder why the place was almost packed. High tables, short tables and booths, then also seating around the bar. It is seat yourself. Also accessible. Service was a bit slow to start, but I was also waiting on my company. So took about 10 mins to get a drink. I think there was 3 people that actually waited on our table (taking orders, receiving the orders and check ins) they were all friendly, but we really liked Alexander and he didn't mind our antics. They have a few options for sauces and we asked for his recommendation. I got 2 orders, I tried the Bourbon and the BBQ. I also added the sauce they use for the fried Dill pickles to dip my BBQ wings in. It was a lime possible cilantro sauce. This wings were good and a pretty decent size. An order is about 12 and the cost on wingnight is $6.50!!!! I can't imagine how busy they are ar 4pm where the appetizers are still half price for an hour. Also got a lemon white chocolate cheesecake to go...unfortunately it had a ruff drive home, so not pretty, but it was delicious. Will definitely...
Read moreWe arrived at 4pm sharp on a Friday, for an early dinner since we had other things to do afterwards. The menu was intriguing and we wanted to give it a chance. Sadly we were rejected at the door because we had our 10 year old son with us. The reason was it was a bar and didn't accept children.
A few things didn't make sense.
It's right next to Denny's, with only a wall dividing the two places. It's not like it's in a closed secluded environment.
It's 4 pm, while law in Halifax states that underaged kids are not allowed in bars after 9pm. Let alone there was no one else at the establishment at the time.
Yes Denny's is next to it, we didn't want those menu items.
At a hotel, I feel like there shouldn't be an adult only bar. Other out of town visitors are going to run into this problem, and I feel it's business loss. In our case, they lost 3 customers that evening. And yes there are plenty of other restaurants in the area, but this is a lost opportunity at a hotel.
I don't believe this is the staff or maybe even the managers fault, but I will likely go back and try again and update the review at...
