Soi ram — Restaurant in Delta

We ordered the spring rolls, green curry with rice and chicken pad Thai to go. We attempted to order online but the online ordering system told us the first available date for order was Wednesday (it was currently Sunday). So we had to call to order, not a big deal for us but might have been why the staff told us “we’re unusually slow today”. The portions are really quite small for the price. We often order from a Thai place in tsawassen and the portions are easily twice as much for a comparable price. We made the mistake of ordering what we typically would from our go to place and unfortunately, did not have enough to feed us. The green curry was delicious, the pad Thai tasted overly fishy, perhaps a little too much fish sauce and was otherwise a little bland. There’s a new kid on the block and that kid is soooo cool! Tried out Soi Ram tonight and to say “I’m impressed” is an understatement! The vibe, the food, the service was TOP NOTCH. It felt like coming home to mom’s good, delicious, authentic Thai cooking but street food style! It’s the kind of authentic goodness where you argue with your friends about who’s mom’s secret recipe is actually the best. (Spoil alert - it’s soi ram’s) We ordered the spring rolls, pad Thai chicken and the pad ka na moo krob. Wish we could’ve eaten more! We were full and went home with left overs between two people! (The portion sizes were filling)

Some constructive feedback: maybe shouldn't have charged me a higher price on the bottle of wine after it was opened and I had ordered it based on the price shown on the board. It was too late for me to say I didn't want it. sticky rice served in the wicker container looks lovely but I suspect natural materials like this will...
