We went for lunch after checking out the nearby thrift store and bakery in Ladner. The atmosphere is typical and expected of Vietnamese restaurant in a strip mall. Overall, I would suggest to stick with the soup as it was very good, but the other items we tried were not as good. We ordered three items: Vietnamese chicken wings, Bahn mi sandwich, and bun bo hue soup. The wings and Bahn mi were both lackluster, but the soup was good! The chicken wings were overcooked and a bit dried out. I suspect the wings are par fried or pre cooked and then finished and sauced when ordered. The reason I suspect this is the wings came out very quickly and there is no way they could have been fried from raw in that time. Anyway the wings, while warm when we got them were a bit overcooked. The Bahn mi sandwich had fresh veggies but the meat (grilled pork) was a bit too grilled for its thickness and was a bit like jerky. There was very little sauce/mayo and no pate (a usual part of a Bahn mi) so it made for an overall dry sandwich. Finally, the Bun Bo Hue was hot, spicy, full of flavour and had very generous amounts of meat and noodle! We were not disappointed with the soup and would recommend sticking with the soups if you go to Pho Haven!

We like this small family restaurant in a mall. It runs by a nice family. I think the mother is the chef? The other family members work in the front. They are all nice and friendly. The place is clean. They use tea bag in a pot if you asking for tea. The food and the price are good. I like the curry chicken in a clay pot the most (item 14). You can choose rice or bread to go with your curry. The herbs in the curry are make it special. Since it has big portion of curry booth, I can add more veggies and meat into it for one more meal at home. The other food is nice as well. They put the menu outside of the shop. You can take a look first. If you are in this area, this is a good choice for you. Since I forgot taking the pictures before I started to eat, the portion of the grilled chicken is more.

I love their rare beef pho - the soup, beef, green onion, bean sprouts and lime ... as well as the chilli oil and sauces on the table. Service wise depends on who's serving you. Individual server is still green and may need time to grow. For example, when I mentioned the metal bumper of a truck parked right outside was reflecting strong sunlight towards me, the server didn't say a word or offer to change my table (several empty tables were available at that time). Another example was when my neighbour customer left, the server came to clean that table with a table of chemical spray and sprayed in the direction towards my table while I was still enjoying my beef pho.

SO UNPROFESSIONAL. ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Gave away our takeout to the wrong person.

When we went to pick up food & realized this, mistakes happen. We are understandable people, and would have happily waited to receive fresh food. But instead we were met with the following circus....

never once apologized or admired a mistake just kept repeating some lady picked up for phone # ..... and we had to keep saying it wasn’t us he tried to give us other ppls take out food, after he knew it wasn’t ours told us we need to reorder, and instead of the 20 minute wait it was initially, it’s now going to be 40 minutes

They made the mistake, all of the initial stuff would have been tolerable, but the fact we order 30 minutes ahead of everyone else. And now we have to wait double the time??? That is not right. Our order should be rushed, he should have made at least the smallest of apologies. We were ahead of everyone else.

Us and another family were so disappointed we have both agreed to never eat at this...

I've only ever had the vermicelli (rice spaghetti, essentially) with a meat protein (or deep-fried tofu pieces or a few sweet potato deep-fried rolls or a few pork deep-fried rolls) on top, mini salad, & another deep-fried roll on the side. So, I can't comment on the Pho broth.

The vermicelli dish is ~$15 (with tax) for a quick meal in the summer when it's too hot to cook. I believe you get what you pay for in terms of quantity. I'd rather support a local small business than a fast food place that gets plenty of sales.

I've never dined in, so I can't comment on the washrooms, etc. But when I pick stuff up, the tables and floor are always spotless & sauce bottles are always filled up.

The clear orange garlic liquid (fish?) is great! They can also give you chili flakes, chilli oil, & sticky thick brown sauce (fish?)...
