Wimpy's Diner — Restaurant in District Municipality of Muskoka

My husband, Athi, and I stayed in Huntsville as we took a week long vacation to Algonquin park for his birthday. Athi loves breakfast so the night before his birthday I called a couple of breakfast places to see if any of them had specials. One of the calls that really stood out was answered by a sweet lady named Pauline at Wimpy's. She said she would have us set up really nice the next morning and I immediately decided that's where we would go. The morning of, we were so warmly welcomed by Pauline who is beyond sweet, friendly, and kind. She arranged a table for us and along with a coffee, brought Athi a hand written happy birthday note. We each ordered an early bird special - I had the pancake breakfast with eggs, bacon and home fries while Athi had one with toast instead of pancakes. Before long, Pauline brought out our meals and as a surprise for Athi, topped off a pancake with strawberries, whipped cream, and a candle while singing him Happy Birthday. The food was fantastic!! Eggs were cooked to perfection, the home fries had the right amount of seasoning (DELICIOUS!!) and the pancakes were massive! Pauline often came by and checked up on us, topped our coffees, made sure we had everything we needed, and had great conversation. Our whole experience at Wimpy's Diner was terrific. To top it all off, as we left, Pauline brought us a big slice of apple pie for us to enjoy on the road. This is one of Athi's most memorable birthdays! We had an excellent experience at Wimpy's diner in Huntsville while on holidays late August. The food and atmosphere were up to other Wimpy's nostalgic standards. Good value for a reasonable price.

What made this visit so outstanding was our server Pauline. This wonderful dedicated professional lady went out of our way to make us feel welcome and warmly attentive. She actually understood my picky desire for gravy on the side to prevent soggy fries. We got into a friendly conversation about her moving up to Huntsville, a long awaited dream. A friend and I went in last night for dinner as my friend had never been to a Wimpy’s before. There was us and 3 other tables, with one being just about done. Once we placed our orders I had over heard the table that was done ask a question about how to work the debit machine and the young server just laughed and walked away and didn’t bother to help. We got our food (which was great), and not once did our server come check to see if everything was good. Once we were done we got our bill, server never asked if we wanted it together or separate, when we asked for it to be separated our sever got very rude about it, came back over a moment later with the separate bills and the machine, my friend had paid while I sat and waited a good 5 minutes for our sever to come back over, I was then rudely asked if I needed the machine. I personally find the service at this location very poor, I always have issues with the servers...
