I just ate what was the most expensive and weirdest “burrito” I've ever seen from this restaurant. The fries (which I expected came on the side for a burrito priced at $24) seemed like they were the left over bits from the bowl that’s been sitting on the pass all service. The inside of the burrito was an amorphous brown mush with bits of soggy lettuce and avocado. It tasted like a 4-day old chicken donair that had been mashed with a potato masher, baked into a casserole over several hours, and drizzled with spicy mayonnaise and extra salt. I’m not exaggerating. That’s what it tasted like to us.
We also ordered salmon tacos - not sure what the concept for these are, but the soggy slaw was dressed with a stale-tasting garlic mayo (think: mildewy cloth), topped with overcooked cajun salmon and a flavourless yet shockingly salty sauce. Was it a taco or was it last night's salad reheated in the microwave and reseasoned with more salt?
Chips on the side tasted like donuts with lime and flakey salt. Same fryer oil as something with cinnamon, maybe? Were they supposed to come with salsa?
I don’t get it - what are these things supposed to taste like? Where is the acid, crunch, and composition? I’m sorry to be so explicit but damn. That was bad.
The star is for the person who answered the phone and gave me a patient run-down of the drinks they had available. Thanks for your service, pal.
Just checked on yelp and this place opened apparently 7 years ago has an average of 2.4 stars. Shocked it's so high on google, why is that? And I'm sure I'll get a nice response from the owner - which seems commonplace.
I don't recommend eating what they call burritos or tacos. Maybe the fried fish is good. Apparently the seafood is...
Read moreOn Mother's Day I placed my first order at this establishment through Uber Eats. When my food arrived I was upset to see they put my 3 pieces of fried hot fish on top of my ceaser salad and coleslaw. Everything was piled in the same container. Needless to say my salad was greasy, hot and ruined. When I called to tell them this, the man who answered the phone was so ugly and horrible to me. First he told me to take it up with Uber. Then I said well Uber didn't pack it. Someone at your restaurant did. Then he said well what do you expect me to do about it? To which I said Is that really your reply? I said I'm just letting you know it's unsatisfactory and I paid for this salad and it's inedible now. He then said well why don't you just come down here then and get a new one? And I said well that's not acceptable or possible. His tone of voice and attitude was just so dismissive and rude, I couldn't believe it. I said this is terrible service if that's all you have to say. I then said I would be definitely writing a review and or complaining to the restaurant and he said he didn't care go ahead and he had to go and then hung up on me. 🤷🙄😕 Too bad because the fish was decent but this guy was so ugly to me. I just don't even know why?! A simple sorry, next time you order we will give you a comp salad would have been a nice reply. Anything would have been better really than what he said and how he said it. Perhaps he was having a bad day and thought it was okay to take it...

Hence , we stumbled upon this place! It's a little quaint place, possibly a hole in the wall, but there's honeys next door so not so much. They have a great grub menu, with a little bit of each for everyone. Beer selection is interesting, where you can see all the beers on the chalkboard.
I went with the fish and chips, and to start we had some wings and calamari. The calamari was amazing, that crunch was tasty ! The fish and chips as well was fantastic, you can taste the freshness and that little hint of slaw makes it all come together.
The wings on the other hand were good, but they could have been air fried. It was a little on the drier side, but the sauce helped.
Speaking of sauces, there is a whole cabinet filled with hot sauces, which was such a delight to try !
The staff is super friendly and caters to everything you would need.
The outdoor seating is a bit interesting in that a bench is technically shared in the middle table on the patio, so just FYI, don't choose that table!
This is somewhere I would definitely go again! Fish and chips for the win , and cool down with a little beer!
PS. Don't forget about the free stickers and to put a pin...
