Pomegranate Grillhouse & Cafe — Restaurant in District of North Vancouver

How on earth did this place get so many 5 star reviews? They must be fake reviews. We gave this place a chance and we regretted the moment we stepped inside. The owner stayed behind the counter and ignored us. Later, he pointed to the menus on the counter when we made a decision to try out the restaurant. There was literally no service at all. The owner was very unfriendly. We didn't have high expectations because we were hoping to eat as one reviewer wrote a very average pizza. We weren't picky after hiking Quarry Rock. We just want to grab a bite to eat to fill our stomachs. We were so wrong!

$22 Burger and fries. Fries were inedible. Super dry and hard. Also, the portion size was tiny. The fries were untouched after sampling two fries. Burger. Very average which was fine because we didn't have high expectations.

When the $20 pizza came, we were a bit shocked and horrified. Pizza was pale in colour and not hot. Obviously the owner saved money and didn't heat his oven to temperature to cook our pizza. One bite and the crust was undercook. The cheese wasn't fully melted and gave off a funky old cheese smell. We barely ate the pizza and left most of it on the plate. We wasted our money and time at this place. This was the worst pizza we had in our life.

My daughter and I decided to visit Deep Cove today and were going to eat at Pomgranate Grillhouse & Cafe. Before sitting down to eat I proceeded to the bathroom at which point the female Owner started screaming saying I could not use the bathroom as I was not a paying customer, blocking the door to the bathroom. My daughter and I (I being a Senior and my daughter in her 2nd trimester) both told her we were going to the bathroom and then would be ordering food. The Owner continued screaming and grabbed my daughter roughly by her arm and threatened to call the Police. Please note there WERE NO PAYING CUSTOMERS IN THE ESTABLISHMENT and the only person sitting there was her husband who remained silent.

I am appalled by the actions of this Owner and we did not stay and reminded the Owner she just lost our business and we will NEVER set food in her restaurant again and will be sharing our experience with friends and family who frequent Deep Cove regularly, including eating at...

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at a restaurant that left a lasting negative impression on me due to its abysmal customer service and rude owner. I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others about the disappointing treatment they might encounter at this establishment.

From the moment I entered the restaurant, it was evident that the staff had no interest in providing a welcoming atmosphere. The hostess barely acknowledged my presence and seemed irritated when I asked about seating options.

The most disappointing aspect of my visit was the behavior of the owner, who was outright rude and disrespectful.

Overall, my experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The combination of rude and inattentive staff, coupled with the dismissive attitude of the owner, made for an unpleasant dining experience.
