I have gone to this McDonald's 2 separate times now (Once during the day, once during the night), and decided against writing a review until I went during two different points in the day to be more fair, sadly, this worked poorly in their favor.
The first time I went was with my Boyfriend about a week and a half ago. We used the self service kiosk, we both ordered similar burgers (both of which had onion straws - this is important), and within about 10 minutes, we got our food (it was lunch rush - no fault of theirs for the wait time). We sat down and began to eat, within a couple seconds, we both noticed that the burgers were missing the onion straws, and on my burger when I opened it, the "tomato slice" on it was root and rind (dark brown stem on top, too). I took this out, confirmed with my boyfriend that the produce on his burger wasn't good either (wilted lettuce), and we both considered taking our food back. I, however, saw that in the middle of lunch rush, about 3-4 of their staff members vanished from the service line, and they cut down to 1 register. I knew at this point, returning the food would take way too long to recover, seeing as the remaining staff were scattered and staggered enough as is. We left around the time some children behind us began kicking our seats (this place has a lot of children which isn't unusual, but there's day-cares near by, so this McDonald's is particularly loud and hectic during the weekdays).
This leads to the other night when I was there with my father. We got there at about 9:00pm, we were stopping in to quickly grab a tea and catch up. We got to the counter, and I asked for a large steeped tea, triple-triple. Now, I've ordered this before, and what they've done every time, is they've left the teabag in the water for about 3 minutes before putting in the cream and sugar, then they serve it. The girl serving me this time looked at me like I was talking in riddles, and repeated, "Steeped tea?" and she muttered something else while rolling her eyes (couldn't hear her sadly), and she turned to a team lead behind her and said "We got steeped tea or (inaudible)?", the team lead also came over and said "Steeped tea? What do you want???" I looked at both of them and said "Tea, I want tea. Steeped tea is tea. Like Orange Pekoe." The girl sighed and entered my order into the system, and repeated "So you want TEA", putting emphasis on "tea"... She rudely asked if I needed anything else, to which my dad made his order (A milkshake and some pies for us), she missed the shake twice, finally it gets to the end, she inputs the order, but doesn't tell us when we can pay or what the amount is. Now, this got me the most, because I myself have worked in retail for about 4 years now, and I know how crucial this is in the transaction, otherwise how is the customer supposed to know when to pay? I stared at her in disbelief of how little she cared about what she was doing, and even when my dad asked "Can I pay?", she didn't say anything, and looked the other way. I thanked her to see if she'd respond, she rolled her eyes and walked away from the counter as soon as the receipt printed.
We left shortly after that, the time we were there, all we could hear was bickering in the back of the restaurant. Clearly, this staff has not been formed with care, none of them get along, and they themselves appear to resent the customer base both night and day. I'm sad to give a bad review for this location seeing as it is one of the only "big ones" on the North Shore, but that experience was unacceptable.
I do not plan...
Read moreTheft Alert If I could give this location 0 stars then I would. This location is close to my work so I’ve used it time to time but on June 11th they stole funds from me and then have been uncooperative with returning them.
I had gone through the drive thru and been charged for my bill , however , the girl at the window told me it didn’t go through. When I explained it had said approved she was quite rude and adamant it had not worked . I secound guessed myself so re processed my card but was then told again it hadn’t gone through. This time I was positive I had seen “approved”. I checked my online banking and immediately saw they had double charged me but two different amounts. It was very clear the charges were directly after each other. It took them forever to discuss and then they disagreed with me that two charges had occurred despite seeing my bank statement. They requested the last four digits of my bank card to find both charges and then again came back and told me I was incorrect and had not been double charged . I was very certain they were wrong so I continued to dispute it , at which point they said I’d have to wait 3-5 days for them to decide if they would refund after they got all their statements . I’m not sure what statements they meant because they had already admitted they had access to them.
I contacted my bank , who confirmed the charges came from the exact same merchant, within a minute , and right after each other . The bank would not return until I had spoken further with the merchant but they did offer to provide the statements as proof of the times that the funds came out .
I called the McDonalds the next morning ( today) and they promised I would hear from someone throughout the day. I did not hear from anyone so called again at about 6:00pm. It was incredibly hard communicating with the staff who answered due to some language barriers but eventually the manager (Banessa) came on the phone and again stated that records showed I was not charged twice and I would have to wait 5 days to discuss further. I requested the contact info for her superior and was informed she doesn’t have one … which we all know is false unless she is the actual owner. I requested info for the district manager or franchise owner and was informed several times that there is nobody above her , until finally she said she wouldn’t disclose the contact info for her boss. I again informed her I have bank statements with their merchant number proving that payments and she stated multiple times that it was basically not relative.
I called my bank again and they have refunded the funds but this has been absolutely ridiculous. I will never access this location again and I strongly urge everyone else not too. The staff were rude , many could not properly communicate which would be fine except it is important when discussing money that is owed, they were combative, were not receptive to a quick resolution or seeing proof that they had taken money of mine they are not entitled to , and would not provide info for the owner or senior management. Poorly run and clearly scam artists. Don’t do it or you may have to deal with the same...
Read moreThe WORST Service and "Don't Care" attitude ever. Went in this morning, ordered on the App, two breakfast sandwiches. I walk in, my number pops on the screen and there are maybe 3-4 orders worth of stuff piling up in the hopper for workers to assemble into bags. My number is the top of the list and the paper chit is there on the counter. Girl looks at it. Looks at me. Nothing is said. She proceeds to pull the chits for the next two orders after mine and call them, totally ignoring my chit and the sandwiches in the hopper for them. So, I politely ask if she is going to process (number xxx) as I am waiting. Ignores me. Grabs another and puts it together. By now, my number has dropped off the screen. Again, a little louder, and perhaps a touch less polite, I ask, "What about number xxx"? No comment but another lady walks over to assist her and again starts another order. By now I am not happy and ask once again, why they aren't assembling my order. FINALLY the 2nd lady puts it together with a huff and drops it roughly onto the counter and turns away. I then state loudly that "you might be finished with me but I want some ketchup!" I am tossed three packets aimed at my face!
Really don't want to make any cultural comments that will undoubtedly get turned against me but if you are so unhappy here in your job, why did you come to work today? It's not MY fault for damn sure.
