I wasn't sure if I was going to share this review, because I know this location is brand new, however after sleeping on it I felt it was worth sharing.
I had went in on Friday evening and ordered a chicken pad see ew. I was in there approximately 5 minutes, and of which most of that was with a new employee trying to work the cash machine. Once I paid, about a minute later I was handed my takeout. I was offered the additional condiments and the staff was extremely pleasant.
Once I got home and opened the takeout container, I realized it wasn't pad see ew but chicken pad Thai instead. To say the least, I was a little disappointed because the store associate who took my order repeated what I ordered back to me so I know they understood what I ordered.
Because I normally take the takeout container and put it into another bowl for easier eating, I felt the noodles with my finger (because as I poured it out, the entire meal "kept together" in what I can only explain as wet cat food). It didn't quite smell fresh to me, so something told me to feel the food with the back of my finger, and realized some parts were cold and other parts were warm.
This led me to think that this take out was already made and not freshly made (it also was in a plain white box and not their usual green). This is for a couple of reasons; one being how quickly they gave me the meal and didn't cook it fresh in front of me, and, had it been made fresh it should have been extremely warm if not hot.
The flavor of the meal was quite disappointing, it didn't have ANY spice level at all even though I ordered it very hot as a spice level. And after reading some of the other reviews of them using too much heat when they had ordered a medium or a lower spice level I can almost think that they didn't add any at all for my meal.
As I was eating it, I thought to myself the only thing that would top this off would be finding hair in it and I'm so disappointed to say that as I was finishing the meal I found it and I didn't realize that it was in there because I tipped the takeout container upside down into the new bowl so the hair was at the bottom. Had I opened it and ate it out of the take out container, I would have saw it right away.
I may come back and try again after they've had more time to work out any issues.. however in the meantime I've been to the other Newmarket location off Davis Dr. and that meal was excellent so I may continue going back there.
Good luck Green Lane team, I hope...
Read moreThis will be my first 5 stars all around. If you're looking for some Thai food, you have to go here (18267 Yonge St, 3 Building B9, Unit B, East Gwillimbury, ON L9N 0A2). Under new management (Alex and family), the food completely surprised my family. Portions are great. We ordered Pho with beef, veggie Pad Thai, Thai Fried rice, veggie Pad Sew, fried veggie spring roll, and fried chicken dumpling. A little more than usual but we wanted to try the food. In our opinion, best Pad Thai in the area and can easily challenge other districts. Service was amazing. Greeted us when we came in. Took their time and provided the options. We didn't feel rushed so that was great. Pad Thai and Pad Sew. I felt like I was sitting in a traditional Thai Restaurant. Not too sweet, not too saulty, and not too saucy on the Pad Thai. It was perfect. They provided crushed peanuts and lime on the side. The Pad Sew, OMG. I can't find the words. Thai Fried Rice, again OMG. Exactly the same if not better than the traditional Thai restaurant. The veggie spring roll, i can honestly say it's better than a lot of places. Now for the Fried chicken dumplings, I could probably eat 50 in one sitting. The portions was great, we had leftovers. I just came from the place and I'm getting hungry just talking about it. Alex, thank you for the great food and service. Say hi to your uncle and tell him that the Pho was Perfect. I've been to a few different Thai Express and I have to say, don't change. Whatever you did to tweak the ingredients, don't share it (LOL). We will drive 40 mins there anytime. God bless and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic Thai restaurant, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The portions were incredibly generous, and the flavors were nothing short of extraordinary.
I tried several dishes, each bursting with freshness and full of delicious, high-quality ingredients. The Pad See Ew, with its big, chewy noodles, was perfectly seasoned and loaded with tender, protein-rich slices of meat. The Thai soup was another standout—warm, comforting, and rich in flavor, with a beautiful balance of spices that made it unforgettable.
The Basil Fried Rice was a delightful mix of savory and aromatic herbs, each bite offering a burst of authentic Thai flavors. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of meat and vegetables, making it a satisfying and wholesome dish.
The fried chicken dumplings and imperial rolls were the perfect starters, crispy on the outside and filled with fresh, well-seasoned ingredients on the inside. Each bite was a delicious reminder of why I love Thai cuisine.
Beyond the food, the restaurant was impeccably clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It's clear that they take great pride in using fresh ingredients.
Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who loves Thai food. The combination of generous portions, fresh ingredients, and authentic flavors makes it a standout choice. I’ll definitely be...
