I recently visited the A&W Restaurant located at 4940 101 Avenue NW and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the friendly staff who were attentive and genuinely enthusiastic about providing excellent service.

The ambiance at this particular A&W is a perfect blend of classic diner charm and modern comfort. The restaurant was impeccably clean, and the retro decor added a nostalgic touch that made the dining experience even more enjoyable.

As always, the highlight was the food. I ordered the classic A&W Burger, and it did not disappoint. The patty was juicy and perfectly cooked, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and their signature sauce. The bun was soft and toasted to perfection. I also couldn't resist getting a side of their famous onion rings, which were crispy and flavorful. 2025- Edit: this place has really gone down hill. Guaranteed to wait every single time. I understand sometimes but it shouldnt be guaranteed. And its usually for way longer then seems normal.

I went there last night and there was no one in the drive through. Still had to wait. She said it was for the chicken tenders but I recieved cold fries and not SO hot chicken. And this is way not the first time we've had a let down here at this location.

I didn't even want to get fast food. Its so disappointing when you finally convince yourself to go and it ends up being crap anyway. Things are only getting more and more expensive. Properly cooked meals that come to you in good time should be the companies bare minimum standard.

But Ive went through the drive through at the KFC next door, paid, got my entire meal and drove away only to see the same trucks are sitting infront of a&w still waiting for what they paid for. Not exaggerating.

We won't be going back. Too many negative experiences.

Very rude staff, we orders from drive through. When asked we said yes to cheese on mamma burger as well as a bag and sauces. We were told to pull over to the side to wait, when the worker came out she had no bag that we paid for, as well as was missing the extra sauces we paid for and the cheese on the momma burger. We ended up going in to grab the sauces as well as the bag and asked if they could add the cheese after. The lady was Very rude and said “your burger doesn’t come with cheese” as she grabbed our sauces, when we asked for the bag as well she rolled her eyes and gabbed us a bag. They staff made this experience really negative and were verbally rude when we asked questions.
