As always, we love all of Daniel Costa’s restaurants, and Bar Henry is no exception. We’re probably here at least once a month—sometimes even twice or three times. The food, the atmosphere, and the service are consistently excellent.
That said, we were really sad to hear they’re no longer open on Mondays and Tuesdays. As a tenant in the Stantec building, we’re also very disappointed that lunch service is no longer offered. We’re tired of the sad salads and meals from Loblaw, and walking all the way to Sunterra just isn’t the same.
If Bar Henry ever decided to bring back some kind of “lunch-to-go” service—like Va, fresh salads, pastries, or something grab-and-go (even just coffee!)—I can imagine it being very well received by all the offices upstairs (myself included!). We especially miss the real coffee you used to offer.
Please don’t ever change the amazing evening service though—Bar Henry at night is always such a treat.

Read moreSPECTACULAR first time at Bar Henry, Daniel Costa's latest restaurant (in partnership with Henry Singer). Every morsel was divine, the vibe was super cool, and the people-watching was A+. The gnoccho valtellina (pictured first) was probably one of my top 5 dishes EVER. Like, in the world. Rich cheese and oozing egg yolk, crispy Brussels sprouts, and walnuts for texture. The flavours were seriously unreal. The second dish was Millie Panino, which was their twist on a truffled grilled cheese. I think they cut the heaviness with balsamic or something similar (I didn't get a pic of the menu). In any case, it was one of the best grilled cheeses of my life. Final dish was the beef carpaccio, which was also excellent and very flavourful. They don't take reservations and the place was packed but it was only about 20-25 min, during which time we enjoyed killer old-fashioneds in frosted glasses at...
Read moreI thought it would be a cozy place to hang out with friends but our expectations were maybe too high. My friends and I couldn’t get comfortable. We were unable to enjoy our chats. I had asked the server to turn the music down but we didn’t notice a difference. On a Wednesday night with 2-3 tables full, it was as loud as a nightclub… The music would at times distract us during our conversations because it also sounded like children’s music. The vibe of this place was off, it didn’t match what they were portraying. The food and drinks were mediocre. We are not inspired to return anytime soon. We quickly finished and moved next door to Alchemy, the music was great and the volume was perfect. We noticed that the couple next to us came from bar Henry 10 mins after we arrived at Alchemy… I guess they weren’t feeling the loud children’s...
