This cafe is beautifully decorated and the pastries look amazing, it is perfectly situated in a very busy and popular neighborhood.

However, my visit here was overall a very disappointing experience.

I ordered an americano and a coffee and a breakfast item and as this was only my second visit I asked if they would bring the food and drinks to my table. I was told that I could pick up the drinks on the side. I was the only one standing and waiting for my drink order, I watched the barista make all the drinks in mugs, bring them to each table and when he made my order he put them in reusable coffee cups. Although I ordered the Americano with Cream and the coffee with milk, he served me both of them black. I had to pour the milk in myself.

My partner commented on his Americano that it wasn't great, similar to what you would get at McDonald's.

It was a particularly busy day and I ordered the croissant with scrambled eggs and fruit on the side. I was unaware that the kitchen was way behind and felt like they must have forgotten my order when 30 minutes later the food still not had arrived.

We were told that the food is all handmade, which I could see for other things on their menu but I'm sure the Chef is not in the kitchen making croissants and it doesn't take 30 minutes to scramble an egg.

Later we saw a large party of 8-9 people, all getting their food at different times. As one was finishing their meal the other was just getting it.

I will not...

My son and I came here for breakfast for the first time. The cafe is beautiful outside and in and the location is great, I love high street. We had the scrambled eggs and some pastries to go. I thought the scrambled eggs are probably the best I’ve tried at a restaurant. I am pretty picky with my scrambled eggs and usually do not prefer only my own - but I was pleasantly surprised. The food is presented so elegantly and came out very quickly. Our server and person who took the order friendly, professional and made an effort to make my son feel comfortable, welcome & included. I very much appreciated that. The portion sizes may be minutely smaller I guess, but you are also getting multiple items in your meal - which balances out overall. In addition to the scrambled eggs our meal included fruit, potato salad, a green salad and toast. I thought everything tasted great. I ordered the one meal to share between my son and I and we still couldn’t finish our meal. The ambience of the cafe, the quality of food and exceptional customer service is well worth the price which I don’t think is unreasonable when compared to similar cafes in Edmonton. It is on par with every other breakfast / pastry place. I was not surprised by the prices as I had anticipated to pay as much when I’m going anywhere other than Dennys for breakfast. We also ordered a croissant and almond tarte to go I haven’t tried them yet but I’m sure...

Food and coffee is excellent. Nothing to worry about here regardless of what other reviews are saying. I stick to standard espresso drinks because complicated fru fru drinks are for the pedantic.

The atmosphere is very nice but it's sullied by dirty chairs and wobbly tables and inconsistent music where some songs fit the style of the place and others just feel so odd. The back of the counter is nice and clean. Customer area needs a bit of focus. Fix the tables. Mend the walls. Clean clean clean.

Service. I'm a heavy tipper. And in exchange I expect above an beyond service. I am also a regular customer. The biggest issue with any front end staff in any restaurant will always be consistency of service. This restaurant staff needs to work on their welcome smiles and personable warmth as it applies to consistency. A warm welcome "hello, it's lovely to see you" goes a long way. This is a lovely place where you are selling wants and little moments of joy. Showing gratitude and happiness will simply bring in more business and heavier tips. When it's busy, some of the bakers should be trained in coffee and help out the front end even just a little bit. Show unity in working shoulder to shoulder.

I will say there's two ladies that have wonderful beautiful welcoming smiles on very...

At first, I was sad about Starbucks leaving their cute corner location until a new locally owned cafe, that I’m now absolutely in love with moved in. It’s a place that feels fancy but welcoming for all to experience a little piece of France right here in Edmonton. Everything is made fresh, and the food is interactive for all the senses; tastes amazing, looks beautiful, smells delectable, and the flawless texture of the food covers off touch. They don’t have all their items out yet that are on their menu, but I’m absolutely in love with their sandwiches (I’ve tried the beef and ratatouille, I assume that the chicken is just as good). I've spent the last 5 minutes trying to find the right words to try and describe how delicious the eclairs are, but I think you’re just better off experiencing them yourself. I can’t wait to see this place when they have everything finished off, but for a soft opening, they have exceeded my expectations, and I’ll be going back all the time for lunch, treats, and maybe some time out on the patio with a friend.

I do not recommend the baked pastries here. From first sight, the croissants and pain au chocolat appeared miserable, these should be things that a “French” cafe does well at the bare minimum. I decided to go with the pain aux raisins as I still wanted something with flaky pastry however, it turned out to be anything but flaky or authentic. I do not think they used the right dough as it was more cake-like and lacked the crispy texture and separation of a typical version. They also used white raisins instead of red and also added cinnamon - it became more like a cinnamon bun rather than a pain aux raisins. 2 stars for a good flat white and pleasant service.
