A group of 8 of us went to this Cora location for lunch. In short, we left incredibly disappointed as we were there for an hour and had to leave as our food never came out after the entire time spent waiting. The entire experience had service levels fall short from the beginning. Once we were seated, we had to ask for menus. You would think that being provided menu should have been one of the first service to provide, once seated but no. Fail. We then asked for hot water, which came out cold. After we were finally able to place our orders, 30 minutes later… no food, 35 minutes later... no food, 40 minutes later …no food
When we inquired about our meals the manager said the food was on the grill. He must have said that 3 times, for each time we had to ask. Most of us had ordered omelets so not sure why an omelet would be on the grill for over 40 minutes. One of us ordered oatmeal and that definitely doesn’t take an hour to make! We then asked for even half of our meals to come out and the manager said yes, but then nothing ever came out. We finally had to call the manager over again for the 4th time as half our group had to leave the get back to work. It was now 12:55 and we all had to be back at work at 1:00. He explained that they were backed up but the restaurant had 5 tables and other tables had to leave without their food too. This was the most un-professional experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The manager was unprofessional, he was frazzled and really didn’t know what he was doing, nor did he train his staff to help out in a situation like this. There must have been 6 staff just standing around not helping the matter. The 8 of us left after over one hour of waiting. After this horrible experience, it explains why the all of the other tables left and the...

Unfortunately, that was the last thing that happened quickly. We sat for 15 minutes with menus—no coffee, no check-in—before realizing that there was only one server handling the entire restaurant.
The hostess, who managed a single smile but otherwise seemed stressed, kept focusing on seating more people rather than assisting the overwhelmed server. Meanwhile, we counted two expeditors bringing food from the kitchen, but neither seemed trained to help with service-one seems to be either owner or Manager. The restaurant was only half full when we arrived, yet it quickly became packed, with no adjustment in staffing.
Maybe someone called in sick, or maybe management just wasn’t prepared, but if you have two expeditors who can’t serve tables in a pinch, something is seriously wrong. A simple explanation would have gone a long way also, but instead, it was just chaos.
Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this Cora’s with our gift...
Read moreI was in Edmonton for the Garth Brooks concert and stayed at the hotel with this restaurant at/in it. I had breakfast there twice, two different options, the Eggs Benedict and an omelette. The fries were actually potato wedges and I felt they were surprisingly good for simple potato wedges. The Eggs Benny had a lot of fruit for garnish including a cantaloupe slice, strawberry and Apple. Overall, both breakfasts were good sized and filling and I would have liked to have seen the omelette be seasoned (salt/pepper) at the time of cooking but it can be added by the customer.
The only con such as it is, I am used to low priced breakfasts and the prices here were kind of dear for breakfasts but the quality was there and I wanted to go back.
It appears to be a ?family? run restaurant, I am guessing here, but I got along with the servers and actually chatted with them both days. Had a fun time. The decor is simple as in not much but the food quality was high and the labour in the food prep showed that the overall restaurant quality is worth the visit
Definitely can recommend to have...
