Our group was extremely disappointed with our service last night. There's been 10-12 sometimes more depending on the night going to this Pub for 3 years now. Service and food was always excellent, except for last night. Our waitress was a complete b*h. She seemed like she was unhappy and didn't want to be there. One friend ordered a burger and the waitress told her they made the wrong burger so they were remaking her another, but she would take it off the bill. There were no condiments on the table, so after asking 3 times, after 40 minutes I finally got vinegar to put on my cold poutine. The waitress seemed more interested and happy to be at the bar chatting and laughing with her friends than serving our table. Out of the 14 of us who were there, there were only 2 people not drinking, sometimes the wrong beers would be brought to our table. I could understand if the place was extremely busy, but at that point in the night there may have been 4 other smaller tables there. When one guy was checking on the re-made burger for the order that came out wrong the waitress sauced him back that she already spoke to customer about it and walked away. One couple was trying to leave so they asked for their bill, everyone else was still chatting and ordering drinks. The waitress brought down a total bill for the table (maybe she wanted us all to leave) when the couple politely told her our table would be separate bills our server got extremely annoyed, reached in over me and the girl that was trying to leave, grabbed the bill for the table balled it up in her hand and stormed off without saying a word. My husband asked for a ceaser and then our bill towards the end of the night. He already asked twice before for our bill but never did get it, so we just stayed there chatting with everyone. Finally she brought the bill, but not the ceaser. I had to ask her a second time for the drink he ordered and a new bill. Finally everyone was ready to go home and was settling their bills. The waitress took everyone's money and then came down to me after saying someone didn't pay for a burger (she named the burger but I forget it now) and two beer. I said that's funny because everyone at our table got bills and paid them at the table, besides two people who went to her at the bar to pay. So I went around the spots of the table with her and went through what people had ordered (we go there so often and having chatted about the great food and what everyone was eating it was easy enough to remember what everyone had). She agreed and that they all paid their bills. After going through each person and their orders and being re-assured they paid I mentioned it to the waitress maybe it was a mistake as Ive worked on the point of sale system before and its easy to press a burger twice (funny thing is though the name of the burger, no one at our table had). I told her maybe it was the burger that was wrongly made for my friend. She snapped back and said well I wouldn't have entered it if no one ordered it and walked away. Everyone was shocked at how she was treating us, after confirming we all paid. So we got up and put our coats on and were about to leave when she came running down with the slip in her hand saying "hey someone didn't pay their bill". I again said we all paid for what we ordered, we went through every person at our table together. She stood there in front of us and rudely said while rolling her eyes "well now I have to pay for this bill" She made one of the guys at our table feel so bad (and for him this was his first experience going there) that he forked over the money after just paying for the food he ordered not even ten minutes ago. Everyone in the place was looking at us like we were all skipping out on our bill. NEVER again will our group be going back, which is sad because this was our favorite get together. Funny how one bad apple in the establishment can ruin such...
Read moreThis place is located in the old Boccalino location, south-side of Jasper Ave between 105 and 106 Street. Long time residents of Edmonton would remember Boccalino for its pasta, as being the first brew pub in Alberta and . . . it was more than often frequented by the most notable of Oiler hockey legends in their heyday.
The pub is adjacent to the lovely “Wine Room”. If you are seeking something classy and more intimate-ask what the options are to book a table in this lovely room for a special special occasion.
As for the pub itself, it is very relaxed, comfortable and a recent refresh has modernized the feel but kept it warm. There are TVs everywhere making it the perfect atmosphere for a pregame snack, to watch an entire sporting event or to a host a work function.
The service here is friendly and attentive, with plenty of drink and food specials throughout the week. The menu offers more variety than your typical chain spot. Tonight, I went for wings and the “Ducey Dog,” and both were excellent. The wings were on point, and the Ducey Dog—a deep-fried hot dog that’s longer than the standard—was a real standout, especially at just under $10 (fries included). I requested my fries well-done, and they delivered. I’ve been here before and will definitely return. Consider checking them out for your Super Bowl party in the coming weeks!
I’m not certain the Oiler players still frequent Pub 1905, but you might spot some local media personalities or even a few national sports desk guys there from time to time. If you do recognize them, try not to bother them for their sports takes or a selfie—unless you’re ready to buy a round for the house . . . if they...

Horrible service, heads up if you're with a girlfriend and you two choose to go to the bathroom at the same time beware that you will be accussed of doing drugs together. When my friend and i came back from the bathroom we were accussed of doing drugs. We asked why we were being escorted outside three times and the supposedly security guard said "you tell me why you do drugs" everytime. It was a misunderstanding and we were treated poorly. To top this off, were two 23 year olds dressed up enough for the Keg. Fancy coats, high heals and classy outfits.
Firstly, we arent even from Edmonton, so the smart thing to do is to use the "buddy" system and go to the bathroom together.
Secondly, we were accused of using the same stalls, which was false and even if we were nobody should be repremanded for that.
Thirdly- They got a customer to kick us out, he wasnt wearing a name tag or a badge saying he was part of "security" or "bouncer".
To top it off their waitress who accussed us of doing drugs looked like a crack head herself.. The Pub 1905 is a horrible place. Our first time there we were treated like junkies. We will gladly take our buisness elsewhere which we did. Right across the street is a great lounge called Redstar that had great service and great drinks. I reccomend not going to Pub1905 if you need to use the restroom following a drink afterwards.
Sincerely,...
