Swung by this place for its soft opening this week and I was not disappointed.
I selected the Pan-Fried Bao, the Traditional Bao, and the Ice Cream Bao. I figured since this was my first time trying Bao, I should go big or go home.
The Pan-Fried Bao was delicious but a little messy to eat. I also might not have been eating it correctly because the moment I bit into it, the liquid inside the dough shot out across the table onto a co-worker. Embarassing in the moment but looking back, freaking hilarious. So there's your caution. If you're going out to lunch with someone you don't like, sit opposite them and position your mouth accordingly.
The Traditional Bao was great but a little heavy on the dough. I made use of the Chili Oil and the Chipotle Mayo to sauce it up and it made a world of difference though the flavor of the sauce did overwhelm the experience.
The Ice Cream Bao was delectable; basically a delicious donut sandwiched with vanilla ice cream.
Overall, great experience and will certainly be back. I do recommend.
Shoutout to my main dude, Jacob who helped us out and made it a phenomenal experience....

Look no further, the menu at Bao Bao will take your tastebuds there in a flash!
Bao Bao is a cute little spot just off of Jasper Ave. Although a small spot it appeared to be a busy favorite to those who know it. The menu offers many options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The staff were kind and mindful of allergies as well as dietary preferences. Not sure what to get? The server was helpful with fan favourites and also what beat suits your hunger.
The menu has a number of options but not To overwhelming to choose from. My advise pick a few items to share, while also picking a soup that nails those taste buds. Either way you’ll be happy with whatever you choose. The food is fresh. well prepared, and packed full of flavour. That first bite and you’re hooked wanting more.
It’s a great place to grab lunch with a friend or a solo trip to feed your cravings. It was my first time but I won’t lie and didn’t consider going back the next day, it was that...
Read morefood (★★★★★) Bao Bao delivers on every front when it comes to flavor and quality. The bao bread is soft, delicious, and not overly sweet like some others can be. The tofu is perfectly crunchy and healthy, while the sweet potato fries are delightfully crispy—no soggy ones here! The soup is soothing, fresh, and the ultimate comfort on a cold winter day. You can even watch the chefs hand-making bao and noodles if you’re seated close to the counter, which adds a fun, authentic touch.
service (★★★★★) The servers are attentive, polite, and happy to explain anything on the menu. Service is lightning-fast too—two people were served in under 15 minutes! You’ll feel well taken care of from start to finish.
establishment (★★★★☆) The spot is clean and inviting, with an open kitchen that adds to the experience. The only downside is that it’s on a busy street, making parking right in front a challenge, though there are plenty of paid lots nearby. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch break if you’re in...
