Just home from our first- but most definitely not last!- experience with Hungry Birds. Let me start this review with... WOW. As evident from some of my past reviews, I am exceptionally difficult to please in the culinary world. I have incredibly high standards. I have eaten some of the best and worst foods from around the world. Tonight I had THE best Butter chicken I've ever, in my life, had the pleasure to taste. The creamy smooth sauce, I later discovered, had little cream in it. The secret ingredient? Go in, taste, then ask ;) The REAL chicken (cooked rotisserie style) was melt in your mouth tender and just packed with flavor. Being the Foodie's we are, my husband and I aimed to sample as wide a variety of menu items as we could in one sitting. We didn't come across a single flavor or texture that we could find a flaw in. Well balanced, perfectly cooked, perfectly spiced. The level of quality found in this quaint little kitchen is mind blowing. Real meat, all slow cooked in house, savory sauces, fresh ingredients, and a genuine respect for the quality of their ingredients . A hidden gem tucked away in a convenient to get to location in Whitemud Crossing, we were delighted by the friendly service, and absolutely amazing product. All at a more than reasonable price. I have paid double that bill for half the quality. Another favorite feature was the transparency. Ask. They will happily answer. Requests were heard, and delivered. We will most definitely be returning as regulars! Healthy, delicious and satisfying on...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. A freaking train wreck. They didn't have most of the ingredients available. Had to run product over from the pizza place next door.
The 1 worker there had no idea what we were saying. We tried asking about gluten free options and had to repeat ourselves multiple times and never actually got an answer. She just read us the menu which didn't have the gluten free options listed anywhere. And when I say we asked, we ask clear questions like "do you have gluten free buns?" "What are the gluten free options available?" And each time we were met with "sorry, I don't understand what you're saying."
The person behind the counter was not in proper attire. She was obviously watching the store for someone else because she was literally there in a winter coat. She also didn't know the menu at all and had to look at the menu to know what was supposed to go in a ham and cheese wrap. If a worker needs to leave the store either leave someone there who actually knows what they're doing or close. Honestly, I thought the place was meant to be closed at first. It was barren and nothing was prepared at all. Save yourself the hassle, go...
Read moreWent here a couple weeks ago but didn't get a chance to leave a review earlier. Ordered the bbq ranch steak grilled wrap. It comes with lettuce but I told the girl i didn't want lettuce as i've had grilled wraps with lettuce before and they became soggy. I also requested no green peppers and asked if they had jalapenos which they did not but it wasn't a big deal. I was happy she was able to oblige when i asked her if she could saute the onions and mushrooms as i love sauteed onions and steak together but cant stand raw onions. The sauteed onions were done perfectly. The taste and flavor was very tasty. It was stuffed chalk full of shredded beef and i also asked to add hot sauce to the bbq ranch which was awesome. The cheese melted under the press to a perfect ooey gooey combination. Was thoroughly impressed of what i got. Very nice atmosphere and finished product. They take pride in their offerings and it shows because it was made with care and passion. I would absolutely go there again. Hopefully soon as i'm craving another steak wrap as i...
