Leng's Chinese Food — Restaurant in Edmonton

I'm leaving a review because my family and I spent $100 on this place last night and let me tell you the food was so boring. It had no flavor. Yes, we choose the option of having no MSG. However, it wouldn't be the first time we did no MSG from other Chinese restaurants. However, they were still delicious.

Plus also your portions are very very small for the cost of your food. We've been to better and more cheaper that actually tastes a lot better Chinese restaurants than this one.

Very small portions. Very boring food that has no taste. I'm a chef of over 25 years and it doesn't matter what cuisine you're cooking. When you have a chef's tongue, you have a chef's tongue.

You need to do better because I will never ever spend my money here again. Especially spending $100 and I didn't even eat it. My family and I would just put it in the fridge. Hopefully our daughter eats it cuz we're not eating it. My wife and I. I probably just end up giving it to the dogs. It's that gross. At the end of the day not my problem. I'm a customer that's your problem....

Leng's changed owners recently and is now not the Leng's we used to love. We've been buying Chinese food here since the mid-80's and will do so no more. A couple weeks ago we ordered and noted a distinct change in the food. We gave them a second chance and tried them again last night (April 26th) and had to throw out the food we bought. Even our dog and cat wouldn't eat any of it. The ginger beef was more like burned gingery gravy swamped meat shards. The almond chicken was swimming in grease in its container. The paper bags containing the spring rolls were glassine-looking from the grease dripping off them and the sweet chili dipping sauce smelled of vomit. The Egg Foo Yung was a watery splashy mess that tasted of kitchen cleaner and the sweet and sour sauce tasted strongly chemical-like. What were delicious egg rolls are now greasy pillows of gunk and the chicken fried rice was just blah!

I called Lengs to express my dissatisfaction and they just laughed and said that was my opinion. Yes! Yes it is! And now it's here on Google...

Ah-maaazing!! Fast, hot and fresh!!! My husband and I came to Edmonton for a little vacation. We had so many ups and downs with food out here and had no luck with Chinese food. Since it was our last night here, we decided to try out a Chinese place since there were no other buffets open (we went to a few and weren't impressed)...so when we came back to our hotel..we figured "what the heck" and ordered some Chinese food. This was the first restaurant that popped up on Google, and it had some pretty good reviews. Ordered the dinner for 3 combo...and holy eff!!! So good!!! The chicken is actually real and everything was super tasty. And the person who took our order was very pleasant and patient. Finally...some good karma on this vacation for some good Chinese food!! Whenever we come back, we are most definitely ordering from here again!!! Waiting for our stomachs to not be so full so we can eat more of this goodness!...
