I’m sure there will be lots of denial on my post as there was no accountability when we dined in on March 22/2025 at 945 pm . Anyways… came in for our reso. Ordered our drink & food. Told 2 servers we were going outside for a smoke ( was told we told no one per the manager) left my driver’s license on the table to show respect as we’ve never been here and being in the industry I know the right way to deal with things. Drinks were removed… even though we just started them. ( other restaurants we attended on our weekend getaway never assumed we left even after proper communication which was seemed to have lacked at gumps… asked why . Was told they assumed we left ? Sure let me leave my information with you just to dine and dash???
Food was better than the service. Server never asked how things were. Felt a very awkward from the start. The Caesar my partner had the first go was just a Caesar with no garnish then the “ remade drinks “ had garnish … is that normal to make it one way then do it different the next ?
Another server came by when we were all done. ( 20 minutes later ) also never was asked if we want a refill..
I felt discriminated which never happens but the vibes showed different. Manager comes by to see what the issue was, was pure defence for the staff .. had no intention to calm the situation down. I even asked if they can just transfer the bill to takeout so the server doesn’t get dinged on a ring out making no money… I wish the servers had more training and knew how to check on the customers.. (18-25% tipper typically ) manager said they can’t transfer to takeout..
Said she’ll give us a discount… sat for 5-10 minutes ( clearly had no care for us , feel free to check your cameras if I’m over exaggerating ) We left to get my sweater and have a smoke as we were staying at the hotel. Got called twice by the manager ( was threatened to have security called on us ) Clearly had no care for our experience. Just wanted it paid. Came back with all intention to pay. Asked the host at the front to talk to the manager… shy as a ghost she never came to rectify the situation. All the staff just stared at me like they’ve never seen a human being before. Server / not really a server came and just handed me the bill and a machine.. clearly not taught how to apologize for terrible service. Only words she said was “ I was just worried it would come off my pay ) … again no care for us just a paid bill. The Vegas location even in the airport puts the west Edmonton mall location to shame. I think new training on both ends of managers and servers needs to be looked at. End of the day you can make excuses but know deep down y’all need to do better . It makes sense why this location is basically a 3.5 out of 5.. barely a pass. D- rating Best of luck
don’t even bother to write” Hi Sidney , thank you for choosing to dine with us, as we know you could have chosen anywhere to enjoy your meal. We are always looking for ways to improve and would appreciate any additional feedback you would be willing to provide at the link below. “
This experience with clearly many more over the months doesn’t show any interest...
Read moreIn stopping in here a handful of times I can safely say (for myself) that I have only had good experiences here.
The last time was notable and props to staff member Tyler, our server. He was pretty awesome to deal with in that he has a good vibe to him. Gave us some trivia (we got 3 or 4 out of 5 right) that had some hard questions to it surprisingly and was pretty much always reachable for something (love when I don’t have to sit around to just ask for the bill to leave). Other staff helped us out when we flipped the sign. Legit we flipped the sign and two staff came to help us quickly (one was in training, that’s pretty slick Bubba Gump crew.
For our food. Naturally I gotta order the calamari and was not disappointed with this calamari. The massive roasted red peppers thrown into the mix is always a nice touch to already big pieces of calamari. Maybe one piece was over cooked and that’s not even a lie.
Last visit I got the Forrest’s seafood feast....Holy Lieutenant Dan man!!!! It’s a really good serving of food with the decent sized shrimp and the fair size log of fish. With the fish the putter deep fried batter is crisp as crisp can seriously be, almost like breaking a fortune cookie but easier. After you break through you fork legit slides through the rest of it tell you get to the bottom (side note. Cut a bigger piece of fish for it to small it falls apart beautifully and with great moisture) then a little snap as it finishes cutting through. On the shrimp, they look pushed out to fry better. In doing so grab a tail, dip and let the crisp crunchy batter do its work before that moisture kicks with the shrimp taste. Hush puppies may not be anyone’s thing (I don’t care for corn) but I will say it’s very good in that delightful ball of goodness.
As for walking in and sitting down. Asked for a booth BOOM! No problem, you sir down and start looking around to truly see all the movie inspired scenery that is so fun to look at. You won’t even need to be a movie fan to enjoy looking around at all the little pictures and stuff around.
As for pricing when the bill came I will say that it’s not overly expensive. For the location and what we got I feel it was a fair bill. I would stop on again and will stop in again and enjoy the good food... sometimes you wanna get a lil medicated and shop. Grab some seafood because life really is like a box...
Read moreReally disappointed with our first and likely last visit to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. The 1 star is for the decorations, all of memorabilia and pictures from Forrest Gump the movie are awesome. The menu- SO DISAPPOINTING. You’d think that they’d have many types of shrimp to choose from, nope! The menu was a laminated piece of paper, one side was all drinks, the other was apps & a few meals. It looked cheap. I get covid protocols but you’d think with the number of shrimp Forrest Gump lists in the movie there would be so much. There were 3 adults and 1 child for our table. We ordered the garlic peel shrimp as an app. It was delicious. Also got the garlic bread. It was quite burnt and hard, nothing special. We had to dip it in the garlic from the shrimp to eat it. We ordered a hamburger meal, a shrimp po boy meal, the shrimpers haven meal, and a chicken finger kids meal for a 2 year old. Minutes after finishing the apps, the hamburger came out. Nothing else. We asked for the kids meal at least because who eats in front of their kid? The rest of the food didn’t come out for a long time. By this time my friend went and spoke to the manager who laughed at him when he asked why the other meals hadn’t come out, saying “we’re busy”… there were multiple tables open. There were multiple staff just standing in a corner at one point. Our friend could have finished the burger before we got the rest of the food but he decided not to eat.
When the food finally came out, we had added the Mac and cheese to the kids meal and it wasn’t there..came out 5 minutes later. It was over cooked Kraft Dinner.
We ended up sending back the burger and the Kraft dinner. They took it off the bill but the whole experience sucked. The shrimp that we had was good, the whole dynamic just ruined it though.
We had 3 different servers and no one introduced themselves or told us they’d be taking care of us.
We had never been there before and no one told us about the license plates on the table (red is when you need service, blue is you’re good) I didn’t know this until I looked up reviews after we left. It should have been “an experience” according to Bubba Gump Shrimp co. Reviews and online- it wasn’t.
