Okaay!!!
Do you want to be ignored for 1 hour and 47 minutes by your waitress, after asking her multiple times for the bill? And she continuously walks past you every 5 minutes for that 1 hour and 47 minutes? Would you like to in addition to being ignored, when you finally ask another waitress for the bill; she goes and talks to your waitress then you look over 5 minutes later and your waitress is pointing at your table and laughing in a group with other waitresses?? Then when she finally brings you the bill, she is passive aggressive and tries to gaslight you into believing that you never asked for the bill? Well this location is the place for you!
I do not recommend this location at all. I can't express how frustrating the service was, I'm always kind to service staff as I understand how stressful the industry is but... We spent a total of 2 hours and 30 minutes in that restaurant, and I would say 20 minutes were spent eating. Frankly, my appetite is not large so I always take the rest to go... so I ask for a box right! My food was clumped up and cold by the time I got the boxes. There was no saving my leftovers, they were genuinely in a brick form.
I was giving her the benefit of the doubt. maybe she forgot about us, maybe she was new, etc etc. Until around 6 tables of hers came in, ate, and left before we were even acknowledged for the bill. The whole one hour and forty-seven minutes, I was holding my card in my hand, around eye level............. she walked past every 5 minutes, made eye contact with me, and looked at my card, and didn't say anything... just walked away.
Snap back to when she finally brought me the bill. I was considering still tipping because it's rough out here.. until she said "why didn't you guys ask me for the bill?" I just looked at her, so confused. I said we asked a few times, and you kept just looking at us and walking away. She continues: "maybe if you would have asked, I would have brought it!" I just go silent because why was SHE the one giving attitude?
Honestly. I wouldn't bother going to this location. The food was pretty decent, it's a fun environment, but I'm so embarrassed over the service.
RECCOMENDATION: Go to The Furniture Warehouse on jasper ave! cheaper food (meals under $10 for INCREDIBLE quality), same portion sizes, same environment (honestly better, it's so fun), amazing staff who honestly make you feel like they've known you forever, and just altogether... more worth it.
It is upsetting because I grew up always supporting the brewhouse, but this location has continued to disappoint me more and more. I would rather give me and my families hard earned money to the furniture warehouse.
TLDR: Don't go here if you value customer service and yummy...

Read moreThis was my first visit to the Canadian Brewhouse in Downtown Edmonton, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We booked a table for a work lunch (12 people) via OpenTable the day before, but that didn’t seem to matter much upon arrival.
The Experience: Getting There: The location is a hassle to access due to ongoing construction—not the restaurant's fault, but something to be aware of.
Reservation Mix-Up: Despite booking in advance, the waitress had no record of our OpenTable reservation. To her credit, she was friendly and accommodating, quickly finding space for all 12 of us, which I appreciated.
Condition of the Restaurant: This location feels neglected and run-down. The seating (benches) was falling apart, the menus were sticky, and the general cleanliness was below the standard I’ve experienced at other Canadian Brewhouse locations. It’s clear there has been a lack of investment here for a while. At some point, management needs to decide whether to renovate or close—because it’s only going downhill from here.
Food Quality: Mediocre at best. Not a single person in our group was satisfied with their meal. One guest received their food significantly later than everyone else, meaning they were still eating while the rest of us were finished. We would have been better off at the Ice District location or a different chain altogether.
The Most Frustrating Part – Automatic Gratuity: A mandatory gratuity was added due to the size of our party, which is standard at many places. However, it was not communicated to me when I paid, leading me to unknowingly double tip. Yes, I should have checked the receipt, but clear communication from the server—like in most restaurants—would have avoided the issue.
Final Verdict: Would I return? No. Would I recommend it? No. Is there potential for improvement? No.
This is the worst Canadian Brewhouse location I’ve ever been to. Unless major improvements are made, it might be best to shut it down and let a better restaurant take...
