IPho and Grill Vietnamese Cuisine — Restaurant in Edmonton

My family, including my three kids, had dinner here tonight. We were initially delighted when, after paying the bill, the young server provided my two daughters with a lollipop and a gun toy each, and then placed the remaining toys back in the drawer. However, the situation took a turn when my son also wanted a gun toy. Despite seeing many in the drawer earlier, when I asked another server, who appeared to be a manager or owner, he claimed they were out. I didn't argue at that moment. Yet, after my inquiry, this manager harshly and loudly reprimanded the young server in the back hall. My daughter noticed there were still 8 gun toys left in the drawer, but the manager insisted they were out when I approached him again. I explained that my 3-year-old son might fight with other kids if he didn't get one, only for the manager to assert there were limits on the toys and refused to provide another, blaming the young server's mistake.

I'm bewildered by the manager's stinginess over such cheap toys, as demonstrated by a photo I posted of my 5-year-old daughter holding the toy. This incident, reflective of the manager's cheapness and poor treatment towards both the kids and his employee, significantly tainted our experience. The sole reason for my 2-star rating is the kindness shown by another female owner/manager towards our children. service needs a little more consistency and awareness not rude in any way though in fact quite polite and informative

very clean and cool looking decor large bright windows and comfy booths

UPDATE!! I keep going here and am amazed at the quality of the beef broth for the Pho. This place uses genuine beef bones and perform a laborious task slow cooking their stock. The sprouts, lime, jalepeno and basil is so fresh, so crisp, clean and cool! IPho and Grill really maintain their high quality, just how you would with family members. Shout out to Jenny, she’s been here since the beginning some 6 years ago. Jenny has no problem giving me the full download on their procedures and practices they use to provide such delicious pho. I look forward to seeing and talking with Jenny almost as much as I anticipate their next level, top notch food, they create. We ordered take out tonight. We ordered 4 meals and two sides. They told us to come in half an hour. I was late but my food was not ready. I paid for my meals and they sat me down. I loved this restaurant so I didn’t get a receipt. They had me wait another ten mins. I got the food home and it was short a dinner. We ordered 2 lemon grass chicken and two other meals. No lemon grass chicken and they substituted for a pork meal. I called as I thought they made a mistake. No he said that they were out of lemon grass chicken. At no point did they talk to me about this until I called. I went over everything I ordered before paying and he said nothing about not having lemon grass chicken or doing a substitute. His response to my call was oh next time you are in we will give you one free entree. I am feeding a family and two people don’t have a meal. I will never eat here again, my time is precious to me and I don’t appreciate the disregard to my time or having the curtesy of discussing anything with their customers when they are unable to give you what you ordered.
