We had our wedding a few weeks back at Koerners Pub and we had an amazing time! The venue is beautiful, and the coordinators are great and so flexible and really went above and beyond to make things as smooth as possible. We even had a guest not able to join last minute due to a death in their family, and the coordinator adjusted the guest count for us so we weren't charged for the extra meal which was super kind of them.

Guests had great feedback about the food, and as far as I'm aware the venue did a great job at accommodating dietary restrictions (we had a significant number of vegan guests). Guests also loved the pool table which was included at no extra charge!

Two reasons why I'm not giving 5 stars: we went through 3 coordinators leading up to the day of the wedding due to staff turnover. All three of them did excellent jobs but it was a bit stressful playing telephone and making sure the new coordinator was caught up. There were a few things that got lost in translation which added an extra layer of work and stress. But I would say everything still worked out in the end, and this is more feedback to the venue to take steps to retain their staff.

The other reason for not giving 5 stars is the lack of transparency around pricing. This venue really nickel and dimes you for everything - from paying $8 per chair, $1 per plate, $1 per set of cutlery, $3 per cloth napkin... The pricing structure on the website is really oversimplified. Sure you have the flexibility to bring your own stuff and not be charged for rental, but I'm not going to coordinate bringing my own chairs and plates to my wedding when I have so many other things to plan. I will say that we were aware of these charges before signing the contract and putting down a deposit, but this is only after we SPECIFICALLY asked for a sample bill from another wedding. If we didn't ask, these charges would have come as a surprise. But we still loved the venue and chose it regardless, but the rentals did add around an extra $8000ish on top of food, drink, venue fees, staff charges, etc.

Finally, while I obviously cannot confirm this, I'm pretty sure the staff threw away our disposable cameras as they mysteriously disappeared partway through the night. We have plenty of photos and I actually think they were thrown out before anyone got to use them, but it was disappointing.

Overall, our wedding was magical and the venue was great and we have no regrets. Thank...

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Koerner's this past weekend. It was one of the best nights of our lives, in no small part to the staff at Keorner's. Ana, the venue coordinator, is on top of everything and was an invaluable resource. She responded quickly to all our communications, and went the extra mile to fulfill every request, including accomodating allergies and liasing with vendors to get the site setup just how we wanted.

The venue looked stunning - more beautiful that we could have imagined. It is an idyllic setting. It looking like our own little forest oasis! We had a night ceremony and it felt right out of a Midsummer Night's Dream.

The food was exceptional. I wish the chef had a restaurant we could eat at all the time! Our guests were comfortable and happy the whole night. The staff were attentive and fun. The beers they had on tap were awesome - even my favourite, Four Winds saison! We really can't say enough good things.

It was fun getting to know the venue - we visited a few times in the leadup, and hung out eating burgers and tacos. The vibe is great. We will be back as customers and look forward to attending one of their drag nights someday soon!

Big recommend and lots of love for...

Do not recommend for weddings.

My husband and I initially tried booking Koerners Pub at UBC as we were looking for a beautiful patio space for our wedding. We reached out and got spotty responses back from their events manager (it often took a few follow ups to hear back). We finally went in and met with the evens manager to let her know what were looking for (open bar, passed appies and platters, and a late night snack). Everything was going well, she sent us the quote and it was full of errors so we asked for a revision so we could pay the deposit. This was last October. Throughout the month we called her direct line and the venue, left voicemails, and sent emails and never heard back. Our last attempts were us asking for her to revise the quote (for more money) so we could pay them and we never heard back. We know the events manager still works there. Our wedding was earlier this month and to this day, we haven't heard back from our calls/voicemails/emails last year! Luckily, after a month of being ghosted by the manager, we moved on to a new venue and they were amazing. But...

We had our wedding at Koerner's Pub two weekends ago and we are beyond happy with the venue and how everything turned out! Caroline did such a great job with communication throughout the whole process and making whatever we wanted to do a reality. When we first booked, they said they're very flexible and can customize our wedding however we liked, and they really meant it! We added a signature cocktail a couple of months before the wedding and they made it happen with no hesitation. We are just blown away by how accommodating they are. We wanted a cozy, intimate, laid back wedding with the ceremony on the open patio and a cocktail style reception with canapes, platters and food stations and they more than delivered on that. The outdoor space is just beautiful surrounded by the tall trees, the atmosphere inside was absolutely perfect and the food was delicious! Our guests raved about everything! I could not recommend Koerner's Pub enough!

Don’t come here for the food. They “only do two things, tacos and burgers, but hey do those well” according to the staff on duty - LOL 🫠 The burger patty was as thin and crispy (smashed burger) as the one tiny stripe of bacon that you get for an additional $2.50 - for me, the smashed thing is mainly a cost saving measure. No lettuce or fresh tomato, just the mushy bun and greasy undercooked fries, all served on a plastic tray (no plate) to give it the perfect canteen finish. The person at the counter did not want to be here (bad day for them it seems). Deco and atmosphere is ok, nice garden/patio. Beer and water good. In summary, the place called Freshii at Wesbrook and this pub battle for the bottom of the list of eating out on campus.
