Ugh! I say that with disappointment, as Tim Horton's is one of my gems of Canada.
Whenever and wherever I travel throughout the Great White North I swing by 'TH' for a fresh cup to power the adventure. I'm always the walk-in and gaze around rather than the drive-through kind of guy.
Lately I've used the app because of a promo, and that's generally been a success: I pick what I want, order, and by the time I get through the doors an employee is calling my name, order ready for consumption and glee.
Well, not yesterday. Not at this Tim Horton's, on Parsons Road! First came the excuses: we don't know how to process online orders. We don't get notification that you ordered. We don't know when the customers are coming in. (Lest anyone in Corporate dismiss this as fake, look up order 014535, date 12/19. Grrrr.)
As I watched the maelstrom of confusion in this Tim Horton's it became obvious that it's got nothing to do with the online orders, these four employees didn't know any aspect of the business. In-store customers were left waiting, cooling their heels, as product was looked up, reference guides were referred to, and general confusion reigned. My eyes widened in mildly real shock: I've seen the TH dance done in locations small and large, in well-provisioned locations and just-opened ones. I looked around for the hidden cameras; this had to be a badly-planned prank; no? No. Keep driving until the training fairy descends upon...
Read moreBack in May I went through drive thru with my son because he wanted hockey cards. To do this, I thought I'd buy a couple meal size salads so I could get a better deal on the cards. I did all this on the app so that I could pick it up more efficiently so I could get my kids home to bed. I get to the window to see a stunned looking employee who said that they have no cards left. I told them that I was only there for the cards and that I would like a refund. The employee insisted on giving me a donut instead of the cards. Again, I declined. And again, I asked for my money back. The employee said that it doesn't work like that. I asked him what he meant. There was no transaction. I didn't get anything. The salads stayed in the restaurant. I need my money back. He told me that I bought it in the app so I needed to contact someone in the app. Hesitantly, I drove away and the app support told me that it needs to be dealt with at the store level. The Tim's Twitter account told me that the management would be in contact with me multiple times and I got nothing. I can't say that I've ever been stolen from by a Canadian company until now. This particular location is so bad that even their social media managers were at a loss for words as they gave me multiple deadlines to contact me that the store didn't meet. And the response is a copy and paste "fill out...
Read moreOverall this is like a 3.5-star fast food place, now I know this is no restaurant and I don't expect Michelin star food or coffee, but they do deliver food at a steady pace either though the drive-through or inside the restaurant, you can expect the food in 3-10 mins depending on how much of a rush there is. The only downside is if there is a rush going on the quality of the food also goes down due to the speed at which they have to get the food out, prioritizing time(quantity) over the quality of the food being pushed out this is evident if you get any type of flavored beverage like an ice-Capp or French vanilla as they can sometimes taste watered down. As for soups depending on the time of day the soups can taste good (late morning early Noon) or taste old and bland (near around midnight) [I only speak for the vegetarian soups,] doughnuts are doughnuts and taste no different anytime if day but if they are fresh, they taste so much better; same goes with any other baked goods.
TL:DR Don’t go if there is a rush (low quality of food) stay away from soups past 9Pm, baked goods are good but better if fresh(obviously), don’t expect 5 star service it’s a fast food place not...
