Nestled along Highway 3 in the picturesque town of Fernie, British Columbia, The Chopstick Truck stands as a testament to culinary passion and community engagement. Founded by the dynamic sister duo, Taylor and Sydney Salvador, this vibrant food truck has become a beloved fixture for both locals and visitors seeking a unique dining experience.

The Chopstick Truck offers a creative menu of Vietnamese-inspired street food, including summer rolls, bao bun tacos, vermicelli bowls, subs, and a Fernie T-wrap specialty. Beverages include authentic bubble tea, Vietnamese iced coffee, and True Buch Kombucha.

Taylor and Sydney are unwavering in their dedication to quality. Each dish is freshly prepared to order, ensuring that flavors are vibrant and ingredients retain their natural integrity. The sisters are passionate about food and living a creative lifestyle while connecting with the community. Their goal is to have a menu that anyone can walk up to, regardless of dietary restrictions, and be able to order something.

Beyond the delectable cuisine, patrons consistently praise the warm and inviting ambiance cultivated by Taylor and Sydney. The Chopstick Truck is more than just a place to eat; it’s a community hub where guests are greeted with genuine smiles and treated like family. The outdoor picnic dining area provides a relaxed setting to savor meals while soaking in the surrounding mountain views.

Since its inception, The Chopstick Truck has been an active participant in local events and festivals throughout the Kootenays. Their commitment to excellence and community involvement was recognized when they received the New Business of the Year award from the Fernie Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to their regular location, The Chopstick Truck offers catering services for various events, including weddings, music festivals, and corporate parties. Their efficient setup and takedown, combined with a no-mess approach, make them a popular choice for event organizers.

Operating daily from March through October, The Chopstick Truck takes a seasonal hiatus from November to February. This schedule allows the team to maintain their high standards and return each season with renewed energy and creativity.

The Chopstick Truck is a shining example of how passion, quality, and community focus can create an exceptional dining experience. Whether you’re a Fernie local or a traveler passing through, a visit to The Chopstick Truck promises not only a meal but a memorable moment of connection and culinary delight.

I stopped to get a bite, after 10 hours on the road with a restless 1 yr old kitty named Sly. The truck has a nicely treed patio area for shade in the summer heat. The outdoor dining area is large enough with picnic tables that are spaced far enough from each other for a sense of coziness and you don't feel crowded. It has ample parking and it is really an intimate kinda setting, that was unexpected on a service road along the highway in Fernie. @ 63y/o I do not have the voracious appetite of my youth, my point is the Chopstick gives you more than ample portions in my opinion. They bill themselves as Vietnamese Street food, and man I am hooked. I plan to stop every time I am going through Fernie now, because I now have a reason. I was pleasantly surprised at the generous helping of BEEF in my bowl. I'm not kidding, there was enough that I made this meal into 3 meals, the mixture of legumes and veggies and noodles was intoxicating, if there is such a thing in food. I also got one of their large lemonade drinks to quash my thirst on a tinder dry and hot summer day that was buzzing with the thump of fully loaded Helios dipping water out of the Elk river, yet the tree canopy of their patio eating area helped insulate us from the intensity of what was going on around us. We were delayed 3 times going to Creston from wildfires, the Chopstick was such a welcome reprieve from the chaos of this wildfire season. I tied sly to the leg of the picnic table and had an enjoyable meal under the cooling branches of the trees. I am sorry I am not more precise in what I ordered, but I will follow up on my return trip. Fernie is such a cool old town with loads of downtown history, the Chopstick is a perfect fit for this mountain resort town, I took Sly the kitty for a good walk around the BMX track at the Fernie Aquatic {Center 250 Pine Ave, Fernie, BC V0B 1M2}, a good place to cool the family off on a hot fire season day, a good reason to get off the highway, there is a splash park for the kids to enjoy and a super...

The food was good (a twist on Vietnamese). Loved the outside space but leaving this 1 star review due to atmosphere and reason I will never return here again or recommend. I was shocked at the gossiping and scowling (behind people’s backs) I saw and heard coming from the ladies working the food truck!! They were very nice & friendly to everyone’s faces but our party of 7 adults sat close enough to the truck to see and hear some pretty unprofessional, rude, and unwelcoming comments. They were in particular awful to the families with kids, even when kids appeared to be decently behaved (they are kids eating outside in a casual grassy space though -which very reasonable imo for them to play around too). They have a kids menu, but the “kid-friendly” stops there. I would never bring my kids here (even though from the outside looks like a perfect spot to eat as a family!). And these ladies still gossiped and scowled behind people’s backs even if they didn’t have kids with them (it was 2 younger girls- early twenties maybe- and an older woman - maybe one of their mothers? Working that day. All of...

Placed an order and it was the best decision ever! Such a fantastic little food truck with deliciously fresh ingredients and flavours. Worth a stop if you are in the Fernie area. It does get busy and we decided to call ahead for our order. Within 20 minutes we had two delicious dishes and skipped the line when arriving. You can also order online through an app but we just used the phone. Decided to get the T-Wrap in a bowl and doubled the meat so it could be shared between two. The pachos were a fun addition and loved the pulled pork. Will be back as soon as we come through again. There’s some outdoor seating and a portable toilet:)

In my opinion, this place serves like freestyle / new age food opposed to fusion food. It's not like typical fusion food in the city... They have their own cuisine and flavour going. I tried the beef bao bun tacos and they had Philly Cheese steak vibes minus the cheese. Didn't taste Asian at all except for the bao buns comparable to T and T supermarket frozen bao buns. But it is unique and it did taste good in its own unique way. A little pricy as it was $16.00 for 3 tacos but fun to try. The staff are friendly and they have some creative menu items going on.

We visited this place to try their food. I ordered a soup bowl, they called it Pho and it was delicious. For one order is $14, i know its a little too high for an average portion but, we need to understand that local business got hit hard because of this pandemic. For this price i did not complain because i got what i wanted which is the taste of my food. Staff are friendly. This is just based in my experience.
