I had dinner there last night, and upon finishing my meal, perhaps 30 minutes after the fact, I feel nauseous, and proceed throw up my entire meal in their bathroom. When queried about the status of my meal, by the server, I inform them that they should check their food safe, as I had just vomited my entire meal. Soon after the manager came to my table, gave me a business card, asked when I threw up, when I ate their food. And chastised me, claiming food poisoning doesn't hit that quick. Which is false, food poisoning absolutely can hit within minutes of ingestion, as can be corroborated by various reputable sources. The manager went on further to claim that it isn't possible, due to the fact that they've served burgers there all night. What backwards logic is it to think because most are good, all are good. That's an absolutist fallacy. How quickly food poisoning can hit, not withstanding, if I physically HAVE to vomit after a meal. Something was wrong. I've dined at this establishment many times before, and have not had an issue prior to this. So this isn't some personal intolerance, or sensitivity to the food I ate. As a creature of habit, I've never deviated from what I order at this restaurant.
The time comes for the bill, and I am met with a fully intact bill. No percentage off. No comped meal, just a full bill for food that essentially never left the building. Initially I didn't think much of it, of course I was prepared to pay, as I decided to go out for dinner. Upon further reflection, why on earth would I be expected to pay for food poisoning? For it to even be a question, for it to not even cross the mind of the manager, or the server to offer anything in the way of compensation for the fact that I violently threw up my entire meal in their bathroom.
I've been a LONG TIME patron of this establishment. But no longer. I will never again eat here. The lack of care, the confrontational approach to a patron who just vomited your food, and the lack of compensation, is absolutely beyond the pale.
EDIT: They reached out to me, only to tell me the proper steps were taken. Bull malarkey. Arguing, from a place of ignorance, with your agreived customer. And then ghosting them when asked about the conduct. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Still...
Read moreThis was our first night out for dinner in FSJ since arriving this round for work at the Hospital. The restaurant was very nice even though we just about died walking Into it with the parking lot being a complete skating rink. So icy and very slippery and dangerous. You guys really should do something about that! I get it was warm during the day amd snow melted then froze but still there are interventions to prevent injuries to your guests.
The wait was very minimal 15 mins for a table and we seated in the bar area. The menu looked great and sounded great, the beer nice and cold and our service by Sheree was fast, prompt, and attentive. Great job on her part but, the food meh at best. I had a smugglers chicken which in theory sounded very tasty but was extremely disappointing. It was hot, looked and smelled great but very very bland. The rice was cooked well but had no sauce or anything even butter on it. The broccoli and carrots are the same. Steamed but bland, with no seasoning or butter on them either. The chicken which looked amazing wasn't, the outside was ok but cut like it was very dry and it was inside. Again it needed the sauce they cooked it from added or anything. Even the trimmings sauce, butter, or grease from the shrimp and scallops would have added a lot more flavor. I didn't complain to the waitress as it wasn't a cooking issue or something they could have fixed it's just the recipe of it all. The best part of this dining experience was the waitress Sheree who did an amazing job, especially considering how busy it was and how many tables she had to attend too..
Mr. MIKES reached out and asked us to try them again. We did and what a difference in the experience. Our server Dana again was amazing and offered great service. Our meals came fast and tasted amazing. I have the seafest fettuccine with shrimp and scallops and wow was it good. Full of flavor lots of shrimp and scallops but something I have never had eating this dish anywhere else was the bit of heat. There was an aioli sauce added that gave it a bit of a zing and so much extra flavor. Excellent job everyone in making what was not a great first experience a fantastic one when...
Read moreWe are currently moving to FSJ for a new job opportunity. I haven't seen the girlfriend in some time as I work and get setup here, so with her visit this weekend I figured I'd take her somewhere nice...
I've been more impressed with what we've fed our dog.
Service was quick, no cutlery, had to ask for refills to start with.
Meals came down (without cultery also - had to ask)- we ordered strip loin and rib eye with lobster tails. The girlfriends steak was overcooked to the point we likely could use it as foundation for a home. She immediately sent it back.
My steak for a rib eye was extremely bland. The lobster tail was very small (I think a baby Yorkie is bigger).
They comped her steak but everything still came out to 84 bucks.... I don't think I will even entertain the idea of retrying Mr. Mike's.
I think zellers back in the day, made a better steak. For a place that prides itself on steaks, likely could replace the kitchen, and where they get the meat.
A big welcome to FSJ..
EDIT** I emailed corporate over the experience we had, and they emailed back saying they appreciate the feedback and will try and reiterate their expectations to their franchises.
They made no attempt to try and have us come back out and have a better experience. It appears that the problem itself comes from the top - not just restaurant side.
I don't have alot of restaurants that I boycott, but Mr mikes has made that very...
