Restaurant Nouveau Li Ho — Restaurant in Gatineau

We’ve been ordering from this restaurant for over 40 years.. it’s a jem of a place! This Christmas Eve we placed quite a large order, and were confirmed for a specific delivery time. We suggested to call the day of delivery to ensure that our food would be delivered on time (as a precaution) and the restaurant told us not to worry…. Great!! In the end we called 30 mins before our delivery and we were informed that everything was taken care of. Living in a condo, we went down to the lobby at the requested time of delivery and unfortunately had to wait 30 minutes longer than expected. Quite a disturbance in the family celebration. Finally the order was delivered. However items were missing, such as rice and especially egg roll sauce. Quite disappointing since multiple egg rolls were ordered for over 10 family members. Who wants to eat egg rolls without their fantastic sauce? Either way, food was delicious, however not met to the expectations of what was ordered for a large group. Although everything was delicious, I recommend that you connect with them continuously if you plan on requesting a large order for delivery to ensure you receive everything that is expected in your order… to which would by paid for ahead of time. This will ensure reassurance that all that is ordered is received. Although missing items was a disappointment, it certainly lead to amusement dinner...

Been a customer for ages ever since my dad discovered this restaurant.

I believe I've been loyal for so many years because of a good reason, the food taste great, for a fast american style chinese spot anyways.

However after a while, I got frustrated with how many mistakes they make in their orders. I probably take the same exact meal and extras since 5 years or even more. Nowadays there is almost always something missing.

I trust the employee too much that I dont always open the bag in the parking lot. But gosh I recommend you do it.

Missing sauces, missing the free fried rice missing items and extra.

Just the other day, the fried rice and 2 eggrolls were missing.

I'm aware it isn't much, but if you imagine it happened to me multiple times, it probably does for other customers too.

I loved this place throughout all these years, was happy to be a good tipper due to their polite welcoming and a regular customer just to help this place stay in business but the order quality control is lacking.

At least they're kind and understanding enough to give the missing items right away, but it shouldn't be part of the common...

A disappointing first time experience. I'd read a few good things about the restaurant and wanted to see if they could do better than the other Chinese restaurants in the hull area. Big hope was that it would be as good and authentic as most of the Chinese restaurants on Somerset Ave. in Ottawa.

They managed to screw up my take out order (which I ordered directly from the counter). I was told 10 minutes. 10 became 15, 15 became 20, and 20 became 25 before they found my order in a bag beside the counter. They hadn't placed the order with my name on it in the bag. I was the only person in the restaurant waiting to pickup a takeout order! Totally unimpressed. No offer made to make up for the wait.

The food... I asked the woman who took my order to get the kitchen staff to make it more authentically Chinese if possible. The results were a general Tso chicken and shrimp Singapore noodle that were no better than any of the other places in Hull. Moderately more expensive too.

It'll be tough to give them another try especially since they are another ten minutes further from restaurants...
