We love greek food and have dined at many great greek restaurants. The food is very good here at Leo's and the roast lamb is cooked very well. The rice, the greek salad, everything Food wise cannot be complained about from our point and from our dining experiences. However, we have had issues with the service and owners in the past. Even pointing out very politely and in a quiet way, the proper procedure for waitressing and serving when it was needed. Again we chose to bring guests from out of town to Leo's, The following has happened again and now I must say something about it. Two of the four in the party were finished before the other two were anywhere near finished. The server cleared away the finished plates immediately and left the other 2 people with their plates half full, being the focus of eating on them and feeling very pressured to finish. This resulted in them asking for it to be packed to go and just ending the meal. Since this has happened on occasions prior, and we've spoken with the Server before, with the server's response being that the owners do not want them to wait to clear the table, that as soon as someone is finished, they must clear the table of any empty plates. I will share the proper ettiquate for this situation. People confuse "pre bussing" with proper service. Yes, you need to ensure unused or unnecessary plates and utensils are removed. But once a course is a served you shouldn't clear the plates from that course until everyone is finished or you are signaled to do so.
I hope the owners read this and help their servers give outstanding service, to compliment the excellent food. Small towns are deserving of great service. Thank you Look this ettiquate up yourself to...
Read moreMy family of four went there to have an early dinner on June 14, 2025 at around 4:30pm. We left. The waitress there was extremely rude. Most of the tables had reserved signs on them, but the restaurant was 90% empty, yet the waitress’s response to us trying to flag her was, “I’ll be there in a minute!” Rudely spoken. The waitress made it seem like it was a bother to serve us. She had a bad attitude and no sense of service and friendliness. We are visible minorities, so perhaps she was prejudiced, or perhaps she didn’t like little kids. Or maybe she was having a bad day. She should not have taken it out on us.
When we placed our drinking glasses from our small table to an adjacent table (so that our kids wouldn’t accidentally knock them over and break them), she scolded us saying that that table was reserved for someone else. No one was there at the time, and again, the place was 90% empty.
When asking for our drink order, she asked, “I guess you don’t want drink. I guess you want water.” Absolutely dripping with distain.
We left the restaurant without eating. We don’t need to be scolded by a rude waitress.
I would not recommend this restaurant. Rude service is a deal breaker for us. Why should we tip if the server is rude? What guarantee is there that the cooks in the back have the same “culture” of poor customer service, bad hygiene or un-hygienic cooking habits? I certainly won’t risk that. Rude wait staff are usually indicative of a poor restaurant operation.
Very disappointed and not at all what we expected from the friendly folks on the Sunshine Coast. If I could give 0...
Read moreVisited Sat Feb 10: We were at first seated at a 2-person VERY close to another table ... our request to relocate was no problem for the young gal.
We moved and had a really lovely young server who began her intro ... and she was really rudely interrupted by the older female server who, right in the middle of server 1 talking, stated "THIS is not your table, it's MY table. YOUR table is THAT one." And then she stepped in. Her service was curt and abrupt throughout, though "polite" in a forced way. We called the original server 1 over at the end of our meal, and let her know that how Server 2 handled the situation was NOT okay, acknowledged that it was embarrassing and unprofessional, and that we appreciated her (server 1), and gave her a cash tip.
FOOD: ordered the seafood platter ... the salmon and cod were okay. Greek salad was a "tomato salad", with sad pale tomatoes. Oysters were heavily breaded, greasy, deep fried (from canned or frozen). Similar re calamari. We were so looking forward to seafood on sunshine coast ... and this was quite underwhelming in that it felt and tasted like a typical greek chain restaurant vs something "special", fresh, and delicious.
I'm not one to leave poor reviews, not one of "those people" ... but this experience warranted it. I hope others have a much different experience than we had - maybe it was just...
