Mike's Place — Restaurant in Gibsons

Honestly I've lived and visited Mike's place the span of 30 yrs. Today I was so disappointed @9:45 this morning I went to get a cake when the lady behind the Gelato counter yells out! "Excuse me can I help you! the cake door is locked." I was confused as I turned around to see her role her eyes and start shaking her head. Excuse me but who crapped in your cereal!! I was going to purchase the $44 cake but after that encounter I thought no!!! There was only 2 other customers in the store in the drink area and 2 other workers behind the cash so it was not busy at all. I don't appreciate being yelled at, and I felt extremely offended, take it however you want. I won't be going back. I feel bad because I do know other people who work there and I've never had an issue. My advice, put a sign up to get help with the cake!! FYI the fact that you didn't notice I had injured both my hands and wouldn't have been able to damage the freezer by pulling on it proves how dismissive you were and you actually didn't notice my injured hands You're reaction was harsh. I walked in earlier today to see if I could find some juice Krystal's, I'm wearing grey jogging pants and a tank top. Hardly any room in my pockets except for what I had purchased earlier at another store. So I walked up to the counter and a middle aged lady blatantly asked me what I had in my pockets, BTW I'm also first Nation from Alert bay BC so I looked at her with disbelief than replied with "wow, are you serious? And she responded with yes!! Stereotypical cashier to automatically assume that a first Nation man is a thief. I also found that very discriminatory. I have loved coming here for the 3 scoop milkshakes and make the trip from secret cove to gibsons just to have this lovely treat. Today I was appalled at the service. I was in line with my husband whom was severed and then as his milkshake was being made other customers after us were served before me and I was skipped. I then thought oh well maybe they are making my husband's then coming back to me. Nope again this family was continued to be served by both CSRs. I had had enough and gave my husband money to pay. At the till he was told they were doing their best. Yes it was busy. Usually there a line for a reason and asking the new customers to wait would have been nice. Hope the customers that got their cones are enjoying them. Now I'm off...
