CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice - University — Restaurant in Greater Strathcona

I recently visited CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice with high expectations, especially as someone who genuinely enjoys bubble tea. While the overall experience was pleasant, I did leave somewhat disappointed due to an issue with my order.

I had asked for the Mango Dream, a drink I’ve heard great things about and was looking forward to trying. Unfortunately, the staff were unfamiliar with it and seemed unsure of what I was referring to. After a bit of back and forth, they ended up making me something similar, though it wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. The drink I received was okay—it wasn’t bad by any means—but it lacked the vibrant mango flavor and creamy balance I was expecting. It felt like a substitute, not the real thing.

That said, I want to acknowledge that the staff were polite and tried their best to accommodate my request, even if they weren’t fully informed. The store itself was clean, bright, and welcoming, and despite the hiccup with my order, I still enjoyed being there. As always, I appreciate CoCo’s wide selection of drinks and the consistency in the quality of their boba.

While this visit didn’t fully meet my expectations, I still consider CoCo one of my go-to spots for bubble tea. I hope next time the staff will be better informed about the menu items—but I’ll definitely be back to try something else.

Got a large brown sugar milk tea and it was good however, the service and experience was not there. There was brown sugar syrup all over my cup. I watched the girl get it all over the cup and assumed she would clean it but she gave it one superficial wipe and handed it to me and walked away. I grabbed a napkin to try and make it work since she already moved onto something else, though there was only one other customer she was helping other than me. There was so much it soaked through the napkin and the napkin couldn’t cover all the sticky spots either. I had sticky hands the whole 45 commute home. This isn’t even a taste problem but simply providing a clean cup, shouldn’t have been a problem among problems that can occur. Also the service was off and I felt really abrupt and not so welcoming vibes from the worker, made my treat-yourself bbt outing not so happy...

I bought two cups of bbt, the seal of both cups broke while walking. I was putting the milk tea in my backpack, which was very empty, with only a little study material and a laptop. The milk tea spilled all over my bag and destroyed my laptop, as well as my study materials. Subsequently, I called Coco, they did not admit that there was any problem with the packaging, and flatly insisted that the seal of the milk tea was broken because of me. They say: You might had broke the seal unintentionally while walking. How fragile does a milk tea cup's seal have to be to break from the shock of walking? I also saw that other people in the comments had the same experience as me. I think there is something wrong with this store's packaging and the store never takes responsibility to fix it.
