"I feel that this incident, caused by the manager, was an example of discrimination!" Nine of us arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 pm, hoping to dine on the patio. However, we were informed that there were no available tables, but if we waited for an hour, one would become available. Deciding to stroll around town to pass the time, we returned an hour later only to find that there was still no space on the patio, so we reluctantly accepted an indoor table. During this time, a group of seven patrons who had been seated outside left, leaving their table vacant. We requested to occupy their table and asked only to add two extra chairs, but the manager refused, insisting that area outside was only for parties of seven. Disappointed, we settled for indoor seating. However, upon leaving, we noticed that another group of ten was now seated at the same table we had requested earlier!!! When I brought this discrepancy to the manager's attention, they merely offered excuses, claiming that the customers had seated themselves without notifying the staff. How is it possible for ten customers to occupy a table in a restaurant and add three extra chairs to it without notifying the staff???? I couldn't help but feel that this incident was an example of discrimination. Regarding the food, while the vegan pizza was enjoyable, the Miso Bowl could have been tastier. Additionally, it seemed that the restaurant was understaffed, as the employees were rushed and struggled to keep up with orders, resulting in delays and difficulty obtaining service. Ultimately, I believe the manager bears responsibility for these shortcomings.

I’ve calmed down from my initial desire to give this place a one star. We went the other night, was given a front patio table quickly and the proceeded to wait for 20 minutes. We finally gave up waiting and my other half went up and asked where our server was. They said that they forgot to assign a waitress to the front patio. Let that sink in. They forgot to assign a waitress to the front patio. The one you walk through when you are coming into the restaurant, the one that every waitress walked through to get to their side patio and is clearly visible from the hostess desk. Once we had a waitress they clearly felt bad because we had every person on staff asking every 5 minutes if we needed anything. That’s the only reason I brought it up from one star. Ok now that my rant is over, the nachos were ok, but they literally only have sour cream on the menu for them and not salsa. Kinda backwards in my mind when it comes to what is shelf stable for longer but what do I know. So the nachos are kinda boring. Beer is good and they have a solid selection on tap and in bottle. Place is kinda pricy given the fare and this is coming from someone used to Toronto prices. If you’re looking to have a drink of something different it’s probably worth it but I wouldn’t go for the food.

Hidden gem in downtown Sudbury. My family and I were looking for a patio to have lunch as we passed through Sudbury and the Laughing Buddha came up with some fantastic reviews so we thought we’d give it a try. The atmosphere on the patio was excellent, tucked between two buildings, massive trees giving you coverage from the sun. I could see us there on a Friday/Saturday evening having drinks and listening to some live music. The food was fantastic, everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. I had the Buddha Bowl and really loved it, the dressing made the salad. I wished the chicken was grilled a bit more but otherwise great menu item. Hubby had the falafel wrap and he said it was moist and flavourful. My kids has the pizza but didn’t love that it had cheddar and Asiago cheese on it. I had asked if we could just do mozzarella cheese and pepperoni but came out with all three, which was a bit disappointing as it was one of the only items On the menu that was really kid friendly. They also had the sweet potato fries and enjoyed them. All in all, thought this restaurant was great and would visit again (without the kids).

Racist restaurant! I do not recommend you go with brown skin. They had tables empty but said they don't. They called few people and nobody turned up. As I was just standing there in the front waiting, after half an hour some white people came behind, so they offered me table in front corner, hot from sun and empty for last half an hour and away from their side patio which was nicely decorated and in shade full of White people only. I asked them to move me there but they said they don't have table and if it became available they will move us. Then table was empty but given to white ladies behind us. Now I asked why I was not moved but they changed waitress to answer us. And new waitress said she did not know we were waiting. Then they took us in back side corner again in hot place away from their white ambience. And it was not only table empty, other 4 tables were empty too. I did not like that but I gave order for Pizza so it is fast and we can just leave. Order did not come for half an hour. So I walked around to check if white ladies behind me had their order. And I find it was served to them. So I asked again and waitress told me in 5 to 7 minutes. However this took another half an hour. And I complained, guess what, new waiter again, now saying he will hurry up. Then he brings us burnt pizza. So we had food and left without giving tips. The Laughing Buddha you are a shame on hospitality in Canada. Response to the laughing buddha Mr owner, nothing else explains why I was made to wait half an hour to give me table that was empty for the whole time. And then given back side hot place also empty another 4 tables. And if waitress made mistake not moving me where I asked her, why changed waitress, I could see her in restaurant just ignoring me and serving on other side. It seemed every attempt was made to corner me away. Even now you lack acknowledgement of what has happened. I've not seen such a disgraceful behavior in any other restaurant in...

I normally don't leave reviews however one of the worst meals i have had in a long time. I have been to the Buddha a dozen times , i use to go to the Only Cafe which was amazing and then the Buddha when it closed. I will start with the positive.. the atmosphere was nice, an outdoor patio on a nice summer night can't beat it. That was the only good thing. FOOD- we ordered 2 burgers, a plate of nachoes and some kettle chips for 3 people and left most of it. The burgers were burnt, which wasnt a suprise because they were pounded so flat and mishaped that it would be hard to not burn them. The buns were hard and the fries were ok , not super hot and covered in spices which my 7 yr old did not like but thats a picky kid, the fries were decent. The nachoes were the worst part. A huge mound of uncooked peppers and purple onions on a mass of melted cold cheese that wasn't stuck to any of the chips. Raw purple onions cubed under rubbery cold cheese ( the cheese is most likely pre shredded and just sits there until melted and then sits again) Kettle chips - cooked to death ( not crispy outside with a softer middle ) and covered with a seasoning salt ( like covered i could spread it with my fingers) and just gross. We sent back one burger and the kettle chips and what came back wasn't any better. SERVICE- our server seemed completely disinterested and seemed to accept the food was bad like he had seen it many times before. I still left him 15% because i was a server for years and i know its not the easiest job. Our bill with no alcohol was $100. I ordered a virgin lemonade it was $9 and sour, not good at all. Later that night my daughter got sick and had the runs the whole next day. My husband burped up his burnt burger all night. That $100 could have went in the garbage and we would have all...
