I frequently love going to the Townehouse for burgers and fries, never have I been disappointed!

Yesterday I was at camp and had been craving a burger and poutine. Of course, no Hwy chipstands were open that we passed, so Townehouse it is!

I live fairly close to the Townehouse and see how busy they are every day of the week, especially with takeout!

I called to place my order and the gentleman that I spoke to was very friendly and informed me that there was a "long wait of approx 35 mins" ( 35 mins for a townehouse burger is more than worth it!! ) so I replied with a no problem! Picked up my order and called back shortly because there was a small issue, my poutine was missing cheese! Haha not a huge problem especially since I was basically told they're busy, hence the wait.

The same gentleman as earlier answered the phone again and immediately offer to make me a new one! To be honest I was hungry enough at this point that I would have just taken a takeout bowl of cheese curds! When I came by for my new poutine, ALL of the staff that were present, 3 I believe, were very friendly and apologetic and informed me I got full size instead of a side poutine! Way more than expected.

A long review to read/write but the staff always has been and still is as amazing as ever and thank you to them, especially for keeping me "well fed"...

So me and my boyfriend used to go to the Towne House ALLOT (at least once a week) often more. Loved the food, the atmosphere, the music, the servers, all of it. Fast forward we finish university and move away from Sudbury; off to the big bad Southern Ontario. The first thing we do is decide "ok we need to find another pub to frequent, to replace the townhouse ya'know?" Look around look around. One month goes by, we still don't find another 'perfect fit'. Two months go by and still no replacement found. It's been more then a year of living down here and we have yet to find a place better then this humble but not so humble establishment. There seems to be allot of places that have 2 of the 3 goals (the pub trifecta if you will): Good food, Good music, Good vibes. The townhouse has all three: Great burgers, Great music, and a Great vibe. I hope they keep it up for...

One time, at band camp...no just kidding; one time when I was 14, there was a band called Furnaceface and I really liked this band. I heard they were coming to Sudbury and were going to play an all ages show so I did everything I could to come up with a bit of money and a ride, grabbed my best friend, and experienced my first ever live music show - at the Townehouse Tavern. This first experience has defined a lot of my life - music choices, friend choices, etc. I've gone on to see many shows and have many drunken (and sober) nights at the Townehouse. When I go home for a visit, it's always on the agenda. The bar has been going strong for close to 25 years now, booking a wide array of bands and musicians, some barely known and some well known. For a city like Sudbury, it's truly an...

Lots of available seating for both small to large parties, indoor and outdoor. Their sweet potato fries can't be beat! Fresh cut goes a long way vs reheating frozen fries. I've had a few burgers from this place and they were all stellar! This establishment offers late night entertainment as well, so its not just a place to go for food. My only negative would be that it is in the downtown core next to the train yard so it can get a bit loud at times. Aside from that, excellent establishment and there's a good reason why it has been around for so long.

ordered a burger with a side upgraded to onion rings, wife did the same but opted for a poutine..poutine arrived without gravy burger without sauce and apparently four dollar union ring upgrade is good for five rings. place used to be on the ball but this is the third time in a row there’s been an issue…they make a decent burger but three strikes you’re out..

A Sudbury institution, with ridiculously good burgers (including a beet-hemp burger that is a very tasty vegetarian option, as well as a 1/2 pound SuperStack burger that uses grilled cheese sandwiches as a bun that is decidedly *not* vegetarian) and an ongoing lineup of the best up and coming touring bands. Oh and the beer on tap is a great option, too...
