Our recent visit to this establishment left us with mixed feelings. While it has the potential to offer a great pub experience, there are several areas that need improvement to enhance the overall experience for guests.

Service

Unfortunately, the service was one of the weakest points of our visit. The host at the front, a young woman in her 20s, showed little enthusiasm in welcoming guests. Her lack of engagement and indifference when directing us to our table set a disappointing tone for the evening. This was further reinforced when my friend arrived later and made the same observation, even jokingly commenting on her lack of effort. A more welcoming and friendly approach at the entrance would significantly improve first impressions.

Our waiter, on the other hand, was professional but not particularly warm. While he wasn’t rude, he also wasn’t engaging. A little more enthusiasm and attentiveness could go a long way in making guests feel more valued.

Food

The food was average, with some room for improvement. The chicken wings were decent but nothing memorable. The nachos, however, were disappointing. We ordered them with meat, but the portion was minimal—so much so that we had to bring it up with the waiter. To his credit, he quickly brought more on the side, which suggests this isn’t an uncommon complaint. Addressing this issue proactively by improving portion consistency would enhance the dining experience.

Atmosphere

The ambiance was typical of a pub, but it lacked energy. While music was playing, it was barely noticeable, and there was no effort to create a lively environment. Adjusting the lighting, ensuring the music complements the setting, and promoting any live entertainment more effectively could greatly improve the overall vibe.

Final Thoughts

This place has the potential to offer a much better experience with a few key improvements. A more welcoming and attentive front-of-house staff, better portion control, and a more thoughtfully curated atmosphere would make a big difference. With these adjustments, it could become a go-to spot rather than just an...

This is one of my favourite little sports bars. It is good for you and a few friends, but also a decent spot for the family/kids. Keeping in mind that I am rating a pub (and not a luxary restaurant), I am giving Teddy's Sports Bar a 5-Star rating because the food is quiet good and the service was great.

The staff is on the ball and they are all really sweet to the kids.

This is one of the top three places that my children love to eat. They say that Teddy's has some of the BEST chicken fingers and fries. I have to say, I often hope they have left-overs because the french fries are pretty amazing. Oh, and they all get a free little ice cream which is a sweet added touch

The restaurant is more of a pub-bar style but for a pub, I am impressed with their food. It is all pretty good. I go here for a girls night sometime and other days we bring all the kiddo's.

There is not much entertainment for the kids (but it is a pub so what do you expect). The kiddos like the massive 8' tall teddy bear near the back of the restaurant. There is one of those claw arcade games to win a little prize - but it is almost always broken. But the free cup of ice cream usually makes up for that.

There is a cute patio in the back lit up with market lights for the summer time as well. Its almost a picnic table style/look to it but my son and daughter like it back there.

I recommend Teddy's for the food, the staff and a good spot to go with your friends or good eats'...

This Teddy bar has such a fantastic atmosphere—perfect for hanging out with friends! It’s relaxed yet lively, with a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home. The service was exceptional—friendly and quick, which made the whole experience even better. The food was amazing, especially the chicken wings; they were absolutely delicious! The drink menu was also impressive, with a wide variety of options to choose from, and everything was served just the way we wanted. The music played at the right volume to keep things fun but not overpowering, which added to the laid-back vibe. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to unwind, enjoy good food, and have a great time...

Teddy's has been a restaurant in Grimsby for many decades, but I believe they have new owners now. There has definitely been some changes. Their back patio looks great, there's new menus, some new touches indoors. We ate there this afternoon, I was surprised how busy it was for Thursday afternoon, We found the food to be excellent! Ordered fish and chips, fish with moist and chunky and had a wonderful crisp batter but not too much batter, fries were cooked perfectly. Coleslaw was the oil and vinegar kind which isn't my favorite, but it was good. Also got a chicken wrap with a salad, my gosh, it was great!

Our group was in town for a hockey tournament. We stopped in because we knew they would have the sporting events we wanted to see (plenty of TV's). Teddy's was busy (Fri night), but the staff did a nice job of taking care of us. The food was good, especially the poutine fries. The wings were good but not like back home in Buffalo. We were not Dan's of their Teddy wings ( the sauce was very sweet). Great spot, especially if you have a group or are looking to catch sports etc. They had live music the day we were there as an added bonus.

A nice clean family friendly place. We came on a Sunday and many seats were empty. Lots of flies but bearable. I think it was because the patio was opened. Service was extremely slow but food was good. They got a couple of our wing orders mixed up but it was an easy switch when we figured it out. What I liked best was that the wings weren't breaded. The cauliflower bites were good
