I guess started on the wrong foot, it was early afternoon, there was a couple of patrons sitting at bistro table in the small vestibule in front the cash register show fridge, two people were in front of me, one was a young fellow being hired to work there the next morning, and a lady who wanted a few things, the clerk helpping the lady got backtracked with the things ordered, and about four more people came in to the store, someone else came to the rescue, but instead of asking who was next, just helped the person he liked the most and it wasn't me, I did not say anything waiting for both l, customer and staff, to correct their mistake on their on, but neither this woman or the bakery staff said anything, he finished helping her, and continued helping other people even though that I was first in line, so I said "it is my turn and it was before too". Poor customer service or discrimination or both?, I am dark skined the other people that came in the store after me were not. I wanted a couple of French baguettes, they only had one left, the loaf is about one third the size of what I would expect to be a real French baguette, taste was bland and sogi so was its texture, when toasted it improved a little bit, but not enough to compensate for the price, neither were the pastry elephant, pal hearts or piggy's ears that also had nothing special, I have had much better from much less acclaimed places, also the parking is not easy since it is right across City Hall in...
Read moreChecked out this bakery after hearing all the rave reviews and unfortunately did not live up to the hype for us both times we went.
Fruit tart is supposed to be their stand out item, but it was packaged carelessly and the filling stuck to the top of the box. Taste wise was nothing special, very standard.
We tried both the almond and regular croissant. Both were overcooked horrendously - they were crunchy, not flakey which was disappointing
Sausage roll was decent but we felt there was too much filling compared to pastry, definitely not a problem we thought we would ever have but somehow found it here. The sausage filling flavour was good but it was a bit tough and dry. Definitely no where near as good as Fleetstreets’ sausage roll.
Finally we tried the canelé, which was disappointingly soft. I was expecting a crunchy exterior but it was only crunchy on the bottom which tends to only happen when it’s a day old…
The fact that it’s cash only is annoying in a post-COVID world as well and makes it easy for us to skip past this bakery...
Read moreI returned! I bought their brownies. Wow! Must try! They will knock your socks off!
My favourite foods here: brownie, cinnamon danish, chocolate chip danish, sausage roll, and croissant.
Tip: Eat Eric's danishes immediately. I picked up his chocolate Danish around 10 am and instantly ate part of it, and it was better fresh and slightly warm compared to when I ate the other half 30 minutes later. It was still good later though.

Older Review: This baker really knows his pastries! I was stunned at the quality and for such a reasonable price! All of my items (4) came to $15. They are a cash only place. This business is closed Sunday through Tuesday.
I am definitely coming back! Wow, what perfect pastry! You will feel and taste the difference in quality here! I would definitely have the sausage rolls and croissants again! Thank you to the customer that highly...
