Went to La Cucina Pizzeria as our first night out in a long time and it was highly disappointing. When we arrived at 7:30 for our reservation we had made earlier in the day through OpenTable they didn't have any record of it. I guess the reservation list was made that morning and we were made to feel as though it was our fault for making a same day reservation in the afternoon. Luckily they were able to seat us after about 10 minutes but I kind of wish they hadn't and we had gone somewhere else.
We started with the fried calamari which came out suspiciously fast....and they were bland and chewy (even for calamari). The coating was crispy but barely; they could have used some extra time in the fryer. Then we waited ages for our pizzas and when they finally came out they were so sad and disappointing. Soggy. Not very hot. Zero presentation. The toppings looked like they had been literally thrown on by a 5 year old: one quarter of mine didn't have a single olive (there were maybe 5 total on the whole pizza) and then there were huge clumps of mushrooms. My partner got the Genovese which was picked based on the beautiful picture on the menu and it was certainly nothing like that. It was meant to come with roasted red peppers but instead came with barely cooked red and green bell peppers. And it was drowning in the pesto - the oil was literally dripping off.
Also there's so many tables crammed into a tiny space that it was incredibly loud. So if you were looking for a quiet place to chat with a friend or loved one, this is not it. I felt like I was yelling the entire night and still couldn't be heard. All in all it was a very expensive and very disappointing first night back out.
At least the wine we...
Read moreI must add that as a lover of pizza, I was particularly enamored with La Cucina's vegetable pizzas. The freshness and authenticity of the ingredients truly shone through in each bite. From the vibrant, roasted bell peppers to the perfectly charred zucchini, every vegetable was bursting with flavor and complemented the pizza wonderfully. The combination of flavors was a testament to the chef's expertise in creating balanced and delicious vegetarian options.
One pizza that stood out to me was their Vegetariano, topped with a medley of grilled eggplant, artichokes, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes. The harmony of these ingredients, along with the tanginess of the tomato sauce and the creaminess of the mozzarella, created a delightful symphony of flavors that left me craving more.
I also appreciated that La Cucina offered a variety of vegetarian options, ensuring that non-meat eaters could enjoy a diverse selection of pizzas. The attention to detail and commitment to authentic taste was evident in every vegetable pizza I tried.
If you're a vegetable lover like myself, La Cucina is a haven for delicious, authentic, and satisfying veggie pizzas. It's clear that they take pride in their craftsmanship and strive to deliver an exceptional dining experience for all...
Read moreI would like to start by saying Bravo to the staff and to the chef at this place. My wife and I had a celebration booked here for 23 people, and everyone was absolutely satisfied. From start to finish hands down some of the best service. Nyemu and Adrien were our servers that day, and the level of professionalism, attention, and just all-out great attitude they portrayed to us and our guests was greatly appreciated.
The food was fantastic and well served, from the appetizers to the main dishes everyone was amazed at the presentation and the great flavors along with the speed that everything came out (not an easy task for such a large group) but they managed to pull it off and with style. Never did have the chance to meet and thank the chef, but thank you!
Michael was our go-to from the start to get this all organized and planned. Pleasure to deal with. He did a great job and even stopped in on his day off from the place to check in with my wife and the staff.
All in all, a great big thank you to everyone who was a part of making our sons day a memorable one.
Look forward to coming back to our new go-to...
