NOT WORTH RATING. MINUS MINUS. NEVER TALK TO YOUR CUSTOMERS IN AN ABUSIVE MANNER. I'm all for giving business to the local small guys and gals. HOWEVER, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT. THE OWNER IS A DISHONEST PERSON WHO FALSELY ADVERTISES. FALSE ADVERTISING YOU SAY - THERE'S A LAW AGAINST THIS. This was MY worst evening of the summer. First of all my husband and I spent a nice Saturday evening the night before at NV where we ordered drinks and appetizers and stayed from 10:00 pm until 12:00 midnight. While enjoying our evening there, we happen to see a stand-up advertisement on EACH table INDICATING free pizza and appetizers on Sunday evenings from 8:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. We thought why not give the small establishment more business and we made plans for two other people to join us and went back on Sunday. WHAT A DISASTER. First of all we got there at 8:00 and were informed that the free apps weren't ready yet. "No problem", we told the wait staff. We ordered drinks and appetizers anyway, which we were happy to pay for. Well we asked several times over the course of two hours, where our free appetizers were - after having a couple more drinks - and our wait staff kept saying I'm sorry for the delay, they will be out shortly. Never saw the free food and stayed until 10:15 pm. As I settled the bill at the bar I asked to speak to the owner who was verbally abusive to me when I confronted him regarding his advertising for something he did not deliver. His reply was "what, you want free food?" Yes, as a matter of fact you advertised free appetizers on Sundays from 8:00 to 12:00 and we saw nothing. I explained that I was a very loyal customer and that I had visited the establishment many times and ordered dinners from time to time. He proceeded to be verbally abusive to me and so I left the establishment and will not return. This owner is a hot head and I advise anyone who is thinking of going here to reconsider and go elsewhere, especially after the evening I had there. So many other restaurants to choose from. Dishonesty does not pay!!!!. False advertising is illegal and punishable by the law. I plan to contact the local...
Read moreMy partner and I are giving NV Kitchen + Bar a 1 star because of the incredibly weird experience we had there this week; our first and most likely our last visit here. The first thing that was odd was that we were seated directly next to one of only two groups in the restaurant. We ended up asking to move, which they allowed. A minute or so after we ordered what we wanted, the staff member returned to double-check what my order had been, and a few minutes later they returned again and double-checked what my parter had ordered. It was very strange. The OG burger is just a bun, a burger, and lettuce, so when I asked for ketchup the staff member didn't look at me and was not polite. Every time my partner and I had any interaction with the staff members we were not looked at and most of the time we could not hear them because they were not speaking loud enough, or not standing close enough, or not looking in our direction when speaking. It all felt very weird and disrespectful and off-putting. The food was very mediocre, which also was strange because the menu looks so delicious; seeing it online is why we went there in the first place. Anyways, the overall experience was very negative and my partner and I felt so uncomfortable and strange for the rest of the evening after leaving. I would not recommend...
Read moreGreat new menu, good service and a lovely atmosphere. I visited NV in the past week and had two very delightful experiences. Flying solo after a long day on a Friday night I popped in for what turned out to be a great late night repast. It was such an enjoyable time (see headline above!) I returned after a day out in Toronto with my dining companion to see if I was mistaken. I was not. My companion ordered a housemade papardelle along with a Caprese salad. Both dishes were perfection. The pasta was pleasantly al dente and well paired with the salad of fresh Ontario sliced tomato and fior de latte I chose both the house mussels and a gnocchi with house smoked chicken in a broth reduction. Again can`t say enough, except, that it was just delicious. For dessert I chose to have the housemade ice cream sandwich, while I understand they will be rotating the offering, this was two pecan chocolate chip cookies literally sandwiching a housemade dark belgian chocolate cinnamon ice cream. Heavenly! I was thoroughly impressed and plan to return this weekend to sample more of this menu. I cannot emphasize enough how good the food, service and atmosphere combined to provide a great dining experience and was pleasantly surprised to see how much of what was on offer was made in house. Very...
