I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but this restaurant has been exhausting to deal with. When I say I'm exhausted, I mean it! Let me break down the ongoing complaints:
Wrong Orders and Menu Issues: You place an order and end up with items you never asked for. Instead of removing unavailable items from their list, they just send you whatever they have. What if I had an allergy to what they sent? If something isn’t available, it should be taken off the menu immediately.
Unequal Compensation: When they try to compensate for their mistakes, it's never of equal value. You lose money, and forget about getting a refund. It's frustrating and unfair.
Poor Communication: The communication is terrible. You can call hours in advance, but your food will still be late. They aren't honest about delays and mislead you instead. This needs urgent fixing.
Wrong Food Replacement: If they give you the wrong food, they expect you to arrange a ride to pick up the correct order. This makes no sense. The restaurant should take responsibility for their mistakes and deliver the correct item.
Consistent Errors: I once ordered a meat pie and received a chicken pie. No one in my home eats chicken. This isn't a one-time error; it happens frequently, and they just pretend it’s not an issue.
Combined Portions: When you order food for two people separately, they combine the portions to avoid giving the correct individual portions. This is especially problematic when the two people don’t live together, forcing us to separate our food. This seems to be their routine practice.
To clarify, multiple people, including myself, have called and complained several times, but the problems persist. I decided to write this review so others are aware.

I came back to edit this review because I felt compelled to share the service experience I've received today and in the past. Now, indeed, it's the best African food in Halifax. However, the girls that are taking orders and serving are left to be desired. Forgetful, messing up the order, not focusing, and never has the correct change to give as I mostly pay with cash.
Today was my last visit there as I was treated like a second-class citizen by the server. Served a couple who came in after me while taking my order. The female of the couple tried to jump ahead of me, asking for puff puff while I was ordering. The server decided to pause and asked them how many puff puff they wanted. I was still ordering my food, and I wanted puff puff, too, and she ignored me and handed the last set of puff puff to the couple, even though I asked for 4 puff puff. Now, all of this may seem petty, but it's the principle involved. It's rude and out of order to do this, especially to customers who frequently patronize this establishment.
When I received the order, she overcharged me for pounded yam x 4 plus threw some puff puff that was not the regular size, it was the very tiny bits left at the end that should not be sold. Then, proceed to short change me for refund and had an attitude because I asked for the correct change back.
I must say that the owner is fantastic and she's the best when it comes to customer service, I really do appreciate the service she'll always given me, but the front staff needs training. Staff can make or break your business.
Be mindful when making your order. Make sure it's correct.
The food is very delicious, but the service is not. Hence, I'm dropping the service to 1 star.

Read moreI passed by this place and decided to try it for the first time. The girl at the counter hardly acknowledged anybody walking in and when I picked up the menu she kept asking me what I wanted. Probably 4 times.
I decided on the suya and she said it wasn’t available. Fine. Wish she told me before I ordered but whatever, I just asked for my money back. Paid with credit card but it apparently takes 7 days to return your money. Guess we’ll see if I get it or not
I was there for probably 25 mins because the owner decided to give it to me anyway but nobody really told me that. Guess it’s available now. The girl at the counter was very dismissive but at least I was still getting something I guess. Awesome.
Took it home. Beef was hard as a rock and dry as a bone and could hardly come off the skewer. Very disappointed in this first experience and probably will never be back. Don’t waste your time and money. Owner was very nice but that was about it.
I’m the least fussiest eater in the world but I had to give this place one star and I almost never write reviews....
